Don't waste your/our time.

And that's about as positive as I can get since this is not the first time you were here.

If people search the forums, you'll come up with this "candidate" for the second time.

I.e. "She's whining for what she wants, not what you really think".

Funny, I almost want to say you are the one whose momma went to town here because she didn't like what the forum wrote. (I'd have to be interested in order to waste time looking)

Truth is, if you don't want the constructive criticisms from the people here that appreciate your style, then bugger off.

I don't like C+W music in any case, it's not just yours.

Chaeya said it - a vocal instructor won't "change" you. He will give you more & better tools to use, so that you can choose how to change yourself for the better. No one controls you, Melissa - no one, not a producer, not a teacher, not even your husband, can change you without your consent & cooperation. The point is this - the more you know, the more you have to pull from to give your voice its own unique quality. At the moment, you could sound like a gazillion karaoke stars. With more & better tools, you could sound both unique & GREAT. Right now, you don't have all of the necessary tools to achieve that. It's okay. There are damned few ppl that are "born stars."

It's up to you.

Good luck with your future as a singer, Mrs. Procter.

Mel, I am a Country singer and you should take it personal
everything said here. Don't shrug it off sayin they don't know me.
Take one thing from all this and that is "singing with EMOTION"
Don't consider selling a few demos as being successful.

Singing with emotion means convincing the listener that
you are singing the truth.

sing happy, sing mad, sing crying, sing full of yourself,
sing silly,
Until you learn to inject these emotions into your
vocals in a convincing way. You will never have the success
on the level you seek.
That's the way it is with Country music and always will be.
This forum is full of many personalities that will care and not care
about your music. It's just like the real world except here you
are lucky enough to hear the truth about what people really think
because they are not standing in front of you.
Most if in front of you would lie due to protecting your feelings.
Can you see the value here now?
We show our teeth and snarl but even pu**y cats do that. :D

You know. I'm gonna miss him. He was my producer, my manager and meeting him and his family was the best thing that ever happened to me.

I appreciate all of you. No matter what you say.

I have a big heart and someday hope to meet you and tell you in person how much I appreciate you. I know I'm climbing a mountain that I may or may not reach. My heart keeps telling to keep going up and I won't stop. In my life I have gone from living in a halfway house to losing my Dad, my memory and my Momma. I don't look at that. I look at what I do have and what I want to achieve. I have a man that supports me and loves me for who and what I want to be. I believe that God will guide me through anything. I will always keep the faith, smile and have fun.

Thanks everyone for giving me advice and for just having someone to type at.

RIP Michael Brenning I will miss you terribly and will make you proud.

Lot's O' Love,

Mel "DEJAVU COUNTRY"
