Thursday, August 12, 2010 - Tears For Fears at The Motor City Casino. I was surprised that the concert was nearly sold-out, I didn't think there were that many TFF fans anymore. Back up vocalist Michael Wainwright opened the show with an acoustic guitar and played for about 30 min. TFF came on about 20 min. later with a choral version of "Pale Shelter" that was pretty cool. They then launched into "Everybody Wants To Rule The World", which sounded great. Roland and Curt traded lead vocals all night, with Roland on guitar and Curt on bass. The only song they didn't play was "Change", which I wanted to hear. I never realized how good of musicians they were until seeing them live. There were a few glitches, being the first night of their tour, but overall a very laid-back, enjoyable concert. BTW it's very rare that a band starts their tour in Detroit; usually we're in the middle or towards the end.

You can still love them. At one point Roland remarked "the last time we were in Detroit was six years ago. We were promoting our new album; we're still promoting it." Six years slips by like a ghost in the night.

1989s Sowing The Seeds Of Love by Tears For Fears is not only a personal favorite from the 80s, but maybe one of my top 10 favorite's period.
There are some awesome musical arrangements in this song, and the bass guitar is outstanding, great album/studio production.

Sowing the Seeds has obvious Beatles references, as do several other TFF tunes. You can't go wrong with the Fab Four.

Their last album together was six years ago. They had solo projects while they were broke up.

Yeah! I had originally metioned in my post above as to how the Beatles influence was so dominate, and I decided not to verse (delete) my opinion on the subject.
But like you stated, "it is very obvious" anyway.
