I'm going to go the Information systems route.

Good move. I got an Associate's in CS first and then my BS in Information Systems. Less math and more business focused. Good luck and keep us posted.

What's shopping cart software usually written in ? PHP?

Technically you could write it in any number of languages/platforms but PHP does get used a lot.

Things I would focus on now:
HTML and XML
Javascript
AJAX
The C family (C, C++, C#)
SQL, especially T-SQL, stored procedures, functions and triggers
ASP.NET MVC
Test Driven Development environments (NUnit, etc)

Forgive me if you already possess these skills.

No not really Jimmy.
I've dabbled with C, and Ruby.
Used javascript, HTML, and VBA. Kind of surprising what can be done with vba and excel.

I've dabbled with a lot of that stuff as well, but I'm a welder/steelworker/machinist by trade, so it doesn't leave much time for anything else. Other than jammin'/gardening/cutting and splitting wood/"special gardening"/ect.
