All of them sound great so far.

Jah Souljah is the best of the ones posted, to me :-)
A bit long of an intro for radio though (usually)

Recession --- Good, but I think it's a mistake to reference current figures or events.
For instance, if you take out the Obama it can apply to any recession until the end of time and not sound dated.

Anyways, I like those two the best.
Excellent work, old bean!

Thanks for the tech talk on the guitar parts. Im always interested in the way people get thier sounds on tape. I know you used to be a tube head like myself and then you went to the dark side SS, funny I said SS in reference to amps the other night to this guy I know who is just getting into amps and he asks "Whats SS, stainless steel!"

Another question, Did you run all three amps at once and blend them or just choose what sounded best for each track?

Anyway thanks for sharing with us and I am glad that youve found a musical outlet that you enjoy. And you guys sound awesome!

Craig, GT, JW, and Collaborator, thanks a bunch. The actual cd hasn't been pressed yet. I'll let you guys know when that happens ok.

GT, the Obama thing, I actually agree with you. It was the first thing I brought up when Ryan wrote it. But I was the only one in the band who was against it. I still think it was a mistake for the very reasons you stated. I spoke my peace, but didn't push the issue. It's Ryan's song, that's what he wanted, and I respect his decision as a songwriter. So yea.. I tried, and just moved on from it quickly. Wasn't worth any kind of real argument to me.

JW, I'm not all SS. My main amp in the recordings is the Fender Hot Rod DeVille 4x10 loaded with some FAT nos tubes. The other amps were used with reverbs so we didn't have to use or mess with plug-ins later. If we wanted reverbs, we would just simply turn up the other tracks and pan them right and left for a true stereo reverb effect. Cool thing is we used two different sounding reverbs.

Ryan's main amp is the SS Fender 85, and we used the DeVille and Roland for his reverbs. When we recorded his rhythms we trapped the Deville reverbs for him to give him a REAL sweet reverb. He did almost all of the rhythms on the album. There was no sense in both of us doing a reggae skank, it just causes timing fluctuations that would have to be edited later.

When you hear the rhythm for Jah Souljah, that was me doing rhythm with my Fender '57 AVRI, wah, and DeVille for the main amp. But there were times when we picked between which ONE amp fit the mood of the song best, and times when we blended all 3.

Live I started using SS because we transport the gear a lot. These particular Fender tube amps don't take kindly to a lot of traveling. So reliability became the biggest factor. I mainly use my Roland live unless it's a big show. We have a big festival coming up, but it's outdoors and it will be very hot out, so I'll still probably use the Roland. No sense in cooking the Fender.
