That's the point Bob, they wouldn't let anyone do 2 things at one time.

Else I'd have just waited my turn..

And to all you drummers/percussion people, I do give ya credit.

BUT I can't play a drum to save my damn life.

I sat at the small set for about 30 seconds before someone got on me and told me to "move on over, rover because when it comes to drums, you best let someone else take over".

And you know I would have argued that except I know better.

The only drumstick I am well acquainted with comes with barbecue sauce and cooked on the grill! lol

I have to say that illustrated the value of knowing how to play other parts within the whole and it was a great experience.

People were really good about trying to play together, well with the exception of one guy.
And you know team players HATE musicians that think they are the whole she-bang in a pita, hold the ranch sauce.

Thus when he got going and no one knew wtf he was up to, it about died mid-stream. He tucked his tail between his legs, proceeded to get really smashed and muttered hate from the back row.

I rather doubt we'll see him back again.

I reiterate, the special warm fuzzy feeling I get is when everyone plays together as one, as if a sum of 4 or 3 is infinitely more than the simple sum of how many you're playing with.

If you ever felt it, I'd wager you know exactly what I mean.

Bass, plain and simple. I can hold a groove, improvise fairly well, and know (or can fake) a pretty good catalog of songs. Hell, most of my band experiences have been me on bass, trying to hold it all together!

Ummm, I play flute but I can play many styles of flute and I get the same internal rush from everything that I play. Last week I played with a rock band at a Celtic bar. In a couple of weeks, I will be playing the original composition of Claude Debussy better known as Syrinx and A modern arrangement of Sryinx that has been jazzed up a bit. I wish you guys could come to my concert.

Good one. I assume you've heard Galway's version.

Well...primarily I play guitar, but...I also tear the hell out of the piano. For the most part though, the thing that I do best is to out-shred all on guitar and do it with taste, style, and feeling.

I am most likely to do my best with Lead Guitar on fusion type improvisations. My practice regimen is focused on developing accuracy and fluidity on any type of genre. Most of my studio jobs, sessions and band projects were for lead guitar spots. Basically, if you need a Lead Guitarist to come in and lay over melodies over your charts, I am the guy you call. I'm pretty good at nailing the solo on the first take.

Oops! I forgot to add skin flute to the list, but...it's much better to have assistance with your skin flute so you can play guitar more freely.

I guess sing, write lyrics on the spot, harmonize, f**k things up.
