As of July 1, 2006, copyright prices go up from $30 to $45.
.
You can do many songs on one CD or tape, and register them as a collection.
You will still be copyrighting each and every song - just saving money.
I suggest to anybody who is interested:
Go to the U.S. Copyright site. TODAY - there's not much time before the increase.
Here's the link:
http://www.copyright.gov/
In the upper right of the page, under "How to register a work," click on
"Sound Recordings"
Read:
Circular 8
Circular 50 (form PA)
Circular 56 (form SR)
Circular 56A (form SR)
.
You can dowload and print the application.
Be SURE to read Circular 56 (or Circular 50, depending on which one you need to use) BEFORE filling in the application!
There's some specific terminology that you MUST use for the application to go through.
.
Best wishes, everyone.
