Cheaper? Euro Health Care model = Euro taxes. At the least double what we are paying now on everything under the sun. And they want to add millions of illegals into the system who will not have to pay? And that will make it cheaper?

OK. I'll admit, the Government does run a few operations quite flawlessly.

They run the DMV quite efficiently.
They run the post office very well indeed
They have done wonders with Medicare
Veterans Health care works like a well oiled machine.
They have worked miracles with Social Security financing
Try dealing sensibly with the IRS
Try clearing up something with a Social Security office

For those who don't click it basically says "The longer an online discussion continues, the more likely someone will compare their Opponent or the cause they support to Hitler or Nazis."

The general thought along with that is the one who brought it up has no facts left to use, and must use fear to compel everyone to their side. In other words... if this was a competition to see if one of us was right or wrong... You lose for proving Godwin right.

But its not a competition, no one wins or loses anything but what they earn with their thoughts, and the eloquence with which they use the boards... spell check, posting FACTS... agreeing and disagreeing civilly. The most you could hope to earn would be the respect others would give you when you speak.

I've proven time and time again I will go over every point with you and help you know more about the bill... no need to wait for that. Reread the posts I have made. Visit the links I have given you. Its not perfect, but its a long damn way from death panels and pulling the plug on old folks.

Ok, They... you mean the government of the people, by the people, for the people right? People just like you and me... which in the DMV's case happens to be State government. Then it is 51 different systems all working at various efficiencies. But to just generally say there are problems with the DMV is understandable... everyone has had them. But how many Millions of people get dealt with everyday and DO NOT have problems? Maybe the DMV is just doing one helluva job that could never be done perfectly... and easy to blame as a faceless entity?

Yes they have, again, good of you to admit it even though it damages your argument. The Quality of care for ALL Americans has risen considerably since the Medicaid/ Medicare act. Is it or anything else you have ever met perfect?

I take it you want someone else to actually do the work of fixing the VA, you of course have no solutions, offer no solutions and take time out of your day to damn any solutions offered. They? Who they? Repubs? Independents? Democrats? By wonders if you mean Millions of Americans without other means will be fed today and sleep in a warm dry bed, then yes, for the last 70 something years they have done some amazing things with FICA taxes. I suspect you mean to damn some of the dubious things they have done... but I am going to generally redirect you to the millions upon millions, including my grandfather who got SOMETHING to retire on, including my mother who has that and fears I will have nothing.

I agree its been used and abused, but do not damn a program that does so much good without offering a solution. Without acknowledging the good it has done in the nation around you.

My Wife's Tax office does that every day... try being the IRS and dealing with every crackpot in the nation. A complex progressive tax code against the most innovative and greedy nation in the world... and the IRS are the poor folks standing in the middle.

Like Cops, I despise them, and give them the respect for doing a horrible job I would not want.

Maybe you think taxes to support the troops should be voluntary? Maybe you support a sales tax so 1/3 of the nation can suddenly decide to not spend any money and shut the Federal government down for 2/3 of the nation. Or a Flat tax, which is a percentage trick played on poor dumb people by educated wealthy people.

Lots of ideas out there... and if you've got a better one, offer it. If its good enough, it'll gain support and become a law.

In the end Slacker you have choices. Hope is one of them... Do your best and hope... Vote your conscious and hope for the best. Inform yourself and participate in the process.

Fear is also a choice, fear the imaginary socialists... fear "THEY" are coming for you... try to make everyone else FEAR with you, then your fears are more real. There is a whole crowd out there right now, terrified, waiting for you to join them in their Opposition to anything.

Bear in mind when your mob tears down the Federal Government, you didn't make us safer, you didn't support the troops, you didn't help the vets suffering at the VA... you just destroyed America. Don't worry about turning off the lights at the end of the TEA party... they'll shut down the power stations before they're done.
