An engineer from Gilbertsville has surrendered to police in connection with the Friday morning road rage shooting on a busy suburban highway.
John Yannarell, 50, turned himself in after talking with his attorney.
He's accused of pulling up alongside a woman on Route 422 and shooting at her car.
A single bullet ripped through the back of the car, hitting the woman twice -- once in her right knee and once in her right elbow.
The victim and suspect were both driving on the eastbound side of the highway near the Oaks exit in Montgomery County around 7:20 a.m.
The woman was actually on the phone with police when the shooting happened, telling them the other driver was weaving in and out of lanes.
Then the car pulled up alongside her and she heard a bang and felt a thud, police said.
At first she thought she'd been sideswiped, but discovered she'd been shot when she felt pain and saw blood.
The victim was treated and released from the hospital.
Yannarell will be charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and attempted homicide.
And they wonder why I'm late sometimes
