Chippy,

That's part of the problem. I can't get into my space or almost anywhere other than these forums because I can't update my out dated browser. They pretty much banned me from the Internet with the last up grades to You Tube and the likes. I can't even hear a song on SoundClick anymore.

I'll send a PM to you here when I feel I should be punished again. Until then, I think I'll just look at the pretty Ubuntu desktop pic.

I see by the old clock on the wall that it's half past doobie time.

Ok send me a mail on here and speak slowly :D
I need to know what was done before, after and what you are doing now? Everything in short so make a mental/written list and post it to me.

I mean by this NOT YOUR CREDIT CARD yeah :D

I need the distro version (#)
Your hardware details if you know them?

Anyway, sorry. We'll get you sorted I hope and if I can't there is an army out there who can.

Hey man - I'm a computer programmer for a living who runs linux servers all day every day. I'm posting this from Ubuntu 9.10 on a laptop... if you want some help just drop me a message on here I'd be glad to help - I just know it could take a few messages so no need to bog down the forum if it takes a few messages to get you up and running :-)

Jim,

I have no idea how to send a PM to you. No link in BandMix profile. I could post where I am and what I have done here if need be.

EDIT:

I guess I'm screwed without any internet connection to that machine. And I can't set one up as my server is Juno. Someone told me I need a ton of files to install vlc. The thrill of defeat, the agony of victory strikes again. The more things change the more they stay the same. A wee bit short sighted on behalf of the developers perhaps? I didn't think anyone would want a DAW on line if it didn't have to be used that way.
