I'm not talking about "American Pie". I think "Castles In The Air" is a masterpiece and "Starry Starry Night" also.

I have been asked to sing with a band at a political gathering in July.
Estimated crowd of 15 to 20,000 people. The band asked me to put together 8 or 10 Country covers for them to learn. I was thinking about 2
ballads and 6 up-tempo songs. Maybe " Castles In The Air" would be a good one. I have tryed it and I can nail it.

"Starry Starry Night" was awesome.

If you like DM you would also probably like Dan Fogelberg. The man was a genius. Awesome lyrics, beautiful voice, could play anything. RIP Dan.

I wrote a post about Starry Starry Night, a few years ago.

Also shared a great video link explaining many of the references to American Pie.

If anyone is still interested, there is a good video here:

Don't remember if this was the original one I posted.

But I totally agree.

Don McClean was a great songwriter and lyricist.

Meh, Jim Croce could out write him with both hands tied behind his back.

Just being silly of course, but never really liked Don Mc.
