Fess Parker died yesterday. For me, after seeing him on TV for so many years, he was, & probably still is the epitome of the American ideal for the character of Davey Crockett. He also played Daniel Boone a time or two.

I always wanted a coonskin cap.

I used to ride to the Sturgis rally and races up in the Black Hills every year. I always saw coon skin caps for sale in some of the small shops around there.

I loved that show.
Had many opportunity to buy a coonskin cap, but never had the balls to wear one.

Most of the kids today don't even know who Davey and Daniel were. As I grew up , they were allways heroes.
Have many great memories from Parker and Graves.
