I agree with except for one thing making these tariffs different than previous tariffs. This is part of the negotiating, and not for punitive sake.
Previous tariffs were always politicians and beaurocrats legislating policy. This is the Executive Branch wielding tariffs as a bargaining chip for negotiating fair trade policies. Trump's people said from the that this is only a temporary measure and everyone knows it, including China. They can wait until the next election and try to buy the Clintons again (speaking of collusion).....but they are losing our money every day and there is no guarantee of winning with Hillary. Just ask George Soros.
So they might play ball if they think Trump is serious. Seems risky but he's a baller that keeps winning. Seems wiser not to underestimate his ability to get things done.
