i think "monkey", "chimp", or "ape" CAN definitely be used as a racial slur......or it can just be a description of someone's behavior (as i believe Vamp has taken up to using it recently....and also how I used it w Ready/Memphis).


however, there is no way to mistake the term "Ragtop" for being anything but a racial slur.... and one against not only Muslims, but also Sikh's, Hindus.....

Th bigger issue is a loss of freedom of speech. If Roseanne were saying the exact same thing about (insert conservative black person here OR any white person) she'd be celebrated.

Planet Guy I think I already addressed the Muslim/ Sharia thing many times but ... RagTop (not a convertable) I chose over Camel Jockey or Sand Hopper etc. Mostly because of it's general nature in that most at Mosques wear some sort of turban or wrap. I personally think it is a bit of a stretch to call my use of it "Racist" but Guitar Mike is firmly placed in the Leftist camp and just before coming to this Thread I made a Post about expecting him to use the term ( I surmised on Yod) but ... This is the first I have seen these Posts. I do wish to thank you for understanding that using "Monkey" was done in a non-racist manner. Ta very much. WORDS ... they can be "used" in so very many ways. This has to be a given and accepted as such in any conversation especially when dealing with different cultures. Case in point ... my Wife and I at first had some really great arguments over WORDS and would wind up laughing like crazy when we eventually would realize we were using a different meaning or in fact quite often stating the same thing.

I hope that Guitar Mike finally understands the Jew versus Zionist and the Muslim versus Sharia explanation that I once again gave ... but seemingly to no avail ... unless he did not see it, which I can dismiss then. Seriously we all need to become a bit more patient and understanding ... some more than others in my opinion but I must admit that Planet Guy surprised me (pleasantly) and I shall not forget that. I hope that it is an example of what can happen and so like it or not and in light of this I must now be more patient and understanding and less combative with him as a result. This is not going to be an immense challenge in light of what he did. when I read his post here re the racist and monkey and ragtop remarks ... well I was not angry rather I read them a couple times in order to understand them and then I posted ... not in anger or insult, not in order to attempt to get one up on him ... no just so he understands perhaps with others my viewpoint. He does not have to agree with it .. just understand it. And yet again what made the most impression was his perception and statement to Mike regarding my use of monkey. Wow that was impressive and I did appreciate it. How can I not show patience, control my anger and not try to understand what he may state in the future in light of this ? I truly HOPE that we ALL can possibly be a little better than we have been. This is needed badly I think. I for one will try much more than ever to follow my words and wishes ... no guarantees because i am a muso with an EGO just like the rest of you. BUT I WILL MOST DEFINATELY TRY... FROM NOW ON ... not just for a week, a day, or a moth but until it ENDS.

That wasn't what I was referring to. You can call me monkey, but I don't identify as one. I was saying don't compare politicians and their allies to apes or monkeys because they're our closest relatives and they're not faring too well in our modern world. They don't deserve the nasty comparison.
