Yod ... I wish you only the best with your relatives. That sucks bigtime. That was very informative regarding the "energy" hit on the refineries. A successful strike for the Evil that is running things at the top, including the "government". I know so many people who in some way work for the "government" ... the lower echelons ... the minions. They are all good people excepting they are ignorant, unawares and in many cases unconcerned about the false reality that is woven around them ... often with their own help.

It is and will remain a large mess and challenge but it will be the common people who pull themselves out of the muck. Texas is a unique State and adversity generally brings people together there I found. I always look forward to reading your Posts whatever they may be. You are one of the strengths and mainstays of BM and I find you very admirable. Your kindness, intellect and PATIENCE are exceptional.

This "Event" is most probably only one of many to come in this fight for survival. It is one thing to be strong enough to endure such hits and adversities in such a fight but it is neccesary to strike back and not in panic but with directed strength. I hope that somehow the Common American People find the energy and resolve to no longer be "patient" with the Filth that pretends to be their "Leaders". If striking back does not commence soon, then the manipulation will only continue and soon there will be more frequent "Events" which will destroy Trump, The Constitution, The Rule of Law and the Morality of the USA.

Ted, all I can do is trust that someone as smart as you will figure out what to do.
I understand the seriousness... Prayers and good thoughts.

Thanks all y'all.

Is it over for you yet Jeff?

The river crests tonight in Beaumont, and everything near it is already under at least 4' of water.

When the water is all finally gone we're going to find thousands dead, I think.

real hairy cleaning up.

I have lived a living hell. Grocery stores were letting folks in 15 at a time. No bread, eggs, water. Very little food. No gas at stations. I did prepare no one thought you would need to stock up for 7 days. We tore out 4' of drywall in the entire downstairs removed flooring. Threw out a refrigerator really nice I paid $1100.00 a year before we separated. I had also put in a brand new dishwasher, we had a commercial freezer in the garage all the living room furniture is gone. I haven't been in that house since I moved out 2.5 years ago. It was very difficult to go back and see all the hard work and money we sunk into that place and then tear it all out and put on the curb. According to the divorce decree we are to put it on the market before the new year this year. She put that as a condition in the divorce and I didn't fight it never thinking something like this would happen. Good news is we had flood insurance on property and contents. It was not mandatory but really a no brainer with a cost of $300 a year. All the water is down and the stores and gas stations are beginning to restock. I will say that after going through such a hard time I have a total different perspective on life these days.

Well that's a tiny bit of good news mixed in with all the bad, Haley.

NATIONAL PRAYER DAY. September,3, 2017...

We have a crazy boy threatening us with nukes. A major homeland disaster.
Hope that our leadership rises to the challenge.

Good time for a few prayers...

Well, at least your water has receded enough to start that work. No basement, I assume. I had to do similar work when basement flooded 18" deep ("100 year flood" they called it) - sheetrock out, lots of stuff in the garbage.
Glad you had flood insurance. My first mortgage company made me get it although we're in a zone B, but latest mortgage companies don't require it - but I pay for it anyway: insurance - you don't need it until you do.

I feel for you and other flood victims. My uncles house where I lived during my younger years was flooded to the roof several times while I was living there. A few years later they re channeled the river and demolished all the housing in the area.

We had to use shovels and sump pumps to get the deep mud out of the basement. Every time it flooded everything was lost, but we kept repairing the house with the help of friends until the city bulldozed all the housing after the last flood.

My uncle had a lot of German artifacts that he kept from the war that were badly damaged. He even had a machine gun on a tripod in the basement. He said I could have it but my dad wouldn't let me keep it. It ended up in the junk with all the rest of what could not be cleaned of the disease ridden sludge. The whole area of town looked like a big field of mud. Everything was brown with sludge.

I know what it is like and it truly does suck, but coming out of it without losing family members and friends is the most important thing. I hope it goes well with you and all your friends in the flooded areas.

Haley ... Good show !!! I know you went into the "Event" not in the best of shape but you have demonstrated very well what you are made of. Texans are a unique bunch. I for one am quite impressed with the speed you have shown diving (pun intended) right into it.

I understand fully how a "place" can embody so much more to one than simply nuts and bolts as they say. Relationships always touch and linger in such a way that something like what you are currently enduring causes emotional responses, retrospects and even some regrets which actually demonstrate the depth of your character. How you react to all this shows what kind of a person you truly are

You do not know your strengths until they are tested. You are a Good Man Haley.

Man, this is the world's fastest rebuild. Electricity is almost restored all over Vidor and there was actual new road laid where it had been destroyed on 105

When you have DONALD TRUMP as President (and all the oil reserves), the government moves really fast...there must be evil blood-sucking illuminati devils at work! right Vamp?

Mobil, Exxon, Gulf, Texaco, Valero etc....

Texans aren't waiting on the government to rebuild the infrastructure, but the government has jumped in big.

My grandfather was a home builder and developed a place called Wexford Park many years ago that has a lot of houses including my mom and two other uncles. This entire area of Vidor was under at least 4' of water, some houses much more. A lot of those people waited too long because the flood came slowly, and the roads were impossible to drive by then.

About a dozen of my neices/nephews/familes abandoned a house in Wexford Park to a church on the northside, where a woman gave birth to a baby in a roomful of strangers and a vehicle with 10' wheels delivered doctors/nurses & equipment.

All of those members of my family are now out of a house and vehicle, except one house, and his car is gone. Still don't know where a few family members are but not going to assume the worst yet. A lot of confusion, but they probably got out.

Howdy Jeff and Ted. Been concerned about you guys, unable to get online. Glad both are OK. Really sucks, I know how Houston is, I've spent all day pulling people out of flooded underpasses a couple of times after a 3 inch rain. Almost got into a fight with 2 wrecker drivers arguing over who would pull a guy out so we did it...lol

We got 10 to11 inches here, humidity killed my cell phone, no other trouble. We're about 15 feet above the lake so I wasn't too worried.

My 1st cousin is outside Beaumont, flooded out but still living.

Now we have another bad one bearing down on Florida, my mother and sister live in Jacksonville. Sis is at work in Illinois, my mother is putting things up high as she can and headed for a hotel out of harm's way with a neighbor. This one is already cat 5, and 175 mph wind. Bad one.

Glad everyone is OK, sorry the house got flooded Jeff, that really sucks. I was trying to figure out how to get in touch and no way, we have some extra room here 3 hours away but no way I could let you know.

Good luck, I hope you can get everything put back together and press on.

Haley ... you are most welcome. Here is a bit of humour for you to lighten your day ... or night

On a possibly more serious note ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXWwy-MmbFY
... hopefully this will not become a Danger to Texas but ..... it could easily.
Please be aware.

And now the "government" is using a hurricane and setting a precedent to seize arms, ammunition and other selected items in open violation of The USS Constitution ...
