It was sort of laughable listen to them conduct their nightly hit piece on Trump, and then talk about how their is anger on both side as some sort of justification for the shooter. On one hand they talk about how the country has an anger problem, while just a few minutes earlier spewing pure hatred for Trump. In addition they always recruit guests to revel along with them in their hatred. Not sure how they even take themselves seriously.

As of last night Mr Scalise was still in serious condition and far from out of the woods, but improving and has had a couple of surgeries so far, and the doctor said he didn't try to count the number of bullet fragments. He was apparently heavily sedated but coherent enough to know his family was there.

It was interesting to see that one of the police who was shot came out on crutches to throw out the first ball at the game. More backbone than I might have...then again I've never been shot by a madman...

But to the original question, what would the media response be if it had been a conservative lunatic that shot a democrat?

OK I have to stop laughing...but that's about what it would sound like. As Ted has already noted, the liberal press has been hysterical in their anti-Trump anti-republican rantings since the day he announced he was running, and for one reason...

In his very first announcement speech, he called out politicians for what they are... dishonest, corrupt and incompetent, and he said he would wipe put the corruption in DC, later nicknamed the swamp.

They know him, and they know he means every single syllable of it, and they're terrified. They see their DC gravy train being derailed, and he's already started. Executive order the first couple of days that stopped their ability to leave government positions and go to work for lobby groups for 5 years, which eliminates an important link between Congress critters and lobbyist groups.

Then in May I think, it was a bill passed that eliminates the slush fund in the DOD. Plus his tax proposal, if Congress would pass it untouched, would remove all but 2 of the special deductions for the rich, and they hate that, they are the rich.

That's what all the anti Trump hysteria is about, and all the anti Trump hatred being spread by the left has been resulting in violence all along. Riots in several places already and I don't see it stopping any time soon. This shooting is the next logical step, unfortunate though it may be.

Remember all the republicans rioting after Obama was elected? Didn't think so, it never happened. We accepted it and moved on. Yes we bitched, but I don't remember anyone getting shot...except at a church in south carolina, by a racist liberal lunatic...Orlando and San Bernardino shootings by the lunatic Islamic radicals Obama insisted on bringing here...OK they were supposedly radicalized after coming here or born here...in fact I don't know of one shooting confirmed to be by a conservative...only those in self defense when some bozo broke into their homes.

But if just one did, the left wing press would scream and start demanding gun control, as usual.

And don't even think about handing me that crap that nobody wants to take guns away...Hillary was doing speeches in the 90s trying to pass the Brady bill. In its original form, if passed, you would now only be able to own a single shot shotgun. Getting ammo would be 3 miles of govt red tape and a federal permit...I read the original bill.

Much later, Hillary and Obama both said we should look to Australia to deal with guns. Australia did a mandatory government buy back, if you didn't sell your guns back the police would confiscate them. Their crime rate went through the roof. And that's exactly what Hillary would be doing right now if she had gotten elected. Obama filled out a survey as a senator that asked if he supported gun confiscation. He checked YES.

So don't tell me the gun control fanatics don't want to take anyone's guns. That's exactly what they want, they drool over it. They pretend they think it will stop senseless shootings like this one, that's a lie. It would allow them to establish total control and put a socialist dictator in place. That's the real goal. An unarmed population can't fight back against the tyrants.

I don't much care for Yankee generals but one who at least impressed me with his skill and courage was Joshua Chamberlain. (book=20th Maine, movie=Gettysburg, plus a biography)

He was shot through the hips in one of the final battles around Petersburg. It wrecked him and the quacks wrote him off but some surgeons from his home state of Maine were able to put him back together - he'd die of his wound eventually, 50 years later.

What I find interesting is that his injuries were almost the same as Scalise but he was saved by doctorswho had none of the modern stuff, just guys that did their best with they had.

I have been around 600 lb breeding domestic hogs. The very size of them is intimidating. However they are actually very docile.
My wife's little pet is a tough guy. She has spoiled him. He doesn't look that big, but he is incredibly strong. He looks innocent enough but I get really careful when someone brings their dog over just to sniff him. Please get your dog away... I don't want anyones pet getting hurt.
He is half the size of a large dog and 30lbs more the weight. Pigs are actually prey animals. When they go into defense, They can slash and be very dangerous. Even my wife's little pig.
