I would suggest they are largely hidden because of the "spying on trump Leaks". I am still waiting to see or hear any evidence that there was any cheating done in the 2016 election that would (1) help the Republicans and (2) actually affect the outcome of the election. The only evidence I've seen of "interference" in the election were the Democrat irregularities uncovered as part of Jill Stein's recount.

If I recall what I learned about habeas corpus, before you can charge someone with a crime and investigate determine if they are guilty, there must first be evidence presented to a Grand Jury that proves that there is a strong likelihood that a crime took place. If voting machines were hacked, then the government could investigate to see who hacked them. But until it has been established that a crime took place, there can be no formal investigation to determine who is guilty.
