Reefer Madness, the original 1938 film

https://archive.org/details/reefer_madness_ipod

The movie begins with this warning:

" Marijuana is that drug - a violent narcotic-an unspeakable scourge - The real public enemy number one!"

"Its first effect is sudden, violent, uncontrollable laughter, then comes dangerous hallucinations - Space expands - time slows down, almost stands still ....fixed ideas come next, conjuring up monstrous extravagances - followed by emotional disturbances, the total inability to direct thoughts, the loss of power to resist physical emotions, leading finally to acts of shocking violence, ending often in incurable insanity.
In picturing its soul - destroying effects no attempt was made to equivocate. The scenes and incidents, while fictionalized for the purpose of this story, are based upon actual research into the results of Marijuana addiction. If their stark reality will make you think, will make you aware that something must be done to wipe out this ghastly menace, then this picture will not have failed its purpose......Because the dread Marijuana may be reaching forth next for your son or daughter .... or yours, or YOURS!!"

Medical marijuana broadly legalized 16 states
Marijuana legalized for recreational use 7 states
No broad laws legalizing marijuana 19 states

Beware : Twenty-six states and the District of Columbia currently have laws broadly legalizing marijuana in some form. Three other states will soon join them after recently passing measures permitting use of medical marijuana.Seven states and the District of Columbia have adopted the most expansive laws legalizing marijuana for recreational use. Most recently, California, Massachusetts, Maine and Nevada all passed measures in November legalizing recreational marijuana. California’s Prop. 64 measure allows adults 21 and older to possess up to one ounce of marijuana and grow up to six plants in their homes. Other tax and licensing provisions of the law will not take effect until January 2018.The blood of the youth is on your hands you irresponsible bastards. Let the madness begin. let the axe murderers come out of the closet (as in the movie headlines) let the rapists pillage your youth (as depicted in the movie) You have been warmed ...

They should legalize it in my opinion. Too many people in jail for possession or smoking a joint. There are bigger fish to fry. I never liked the feeling weed gives me. My youngest son 23 has a history of becoming violent when drinking alcohol. He is fine when he smokes weed, I even prefer if he is going to self medicate it be with weed.

I don't think Jeff Sessions likes marijuana.. would not be surprised to see Federal raids on marijuana warehouses in Washington Oregon and other far left liberal bastions that think drugs are ok.. :)

It's ramping up to be a huge business - it'll surpass what's left of the tobacco industry in no time. Due to the medicinal uses, the selling prices are climbing sky high. State and municipal tax income is climbing.
Dayne - do you think 'reefer madness' is prevalent in Colorado and Washington (state) already?

Jeff Sessions on Marijuana: Drug is 'Only Slightly Less Awful' than Heroin

Evidently the only experience sessions has had is watching Reefer Madness.

I have never smoked ... cigs or weed. I am not an advocate of it nor am I totally against it. There is supposed to be a thing called personal choice. I know some who use it for real medical reasons ... cancer etc. Heroin is prescribed for such at times as well. I have never seen anyone violent because of it and although I feel in some cases it may lead to harder and more dangerous addictions my only criticism of it is that loads of people I have known overuse it and it saps their ambition and clarity and capabilities ... often musical ones.

Guitar Mike is right about it and as such it all becomes a simple matter of money with nothing to do with anything else ... especially when the "government" is involved. Haley is absolutely correct in that there are bigger fish to fry. It is widespread where ever I have been and almost everyone has tried it and uses it lightly. PERSONAL CHOICE.

You had better watch out Jeff. One of the kids in Reefer Madness smoked a joint and then murdered his whole family with an axe. I sure hope that doesn't happen to you. I would hate to see a good musician hacked to death just because some evil pusher gave your son a doobie.
