I used to go to the Sat matinee for 10 cents and watch westerns almost every week. There was a local kid show host called "Canyon Kid" and he used to host contests where the kids won prizes before the movies.
Here are some of the characters and stars that were in those movies. I didn't mention famous side kicks only the "hero's". Gabby Hays was a sidekick, like Tonto and the others. They played great sidekicks. Here are some of the big screen hero's we couldn't wait to see every weekend.
Lash Larue, Hopalong Cassidy, Gene autry, Audie Murphy, Kit Carson,The Durango Kid,The Lone Ranger, Roy Rogers,Johnny Mack Brown, Randolf Scott, Rex Allen, Tim Holt,Tim McCoy, Tom Mix, Red Ryder.......and the list goes on. Any of those ring a bell?
I don't mind tellin ya lil' buckaroo, I seen 'em all.
