"My point? The founding fathers of this country preferred what is happening TODAY to any other alternative form of government. These guys weren't stupid. They KNEW the consequences of their actions. What you see TODAY was anticipated and WELCOMED by the founding fathers of this country. So don't be surprised or upset about all of this haggling. It was predicted centuries ago and it was a deemed a healthy approach to government."

Healthy? Welcomed? The system is broken and it defiantly is not working as founded.

It was never intended for the power of the purse to be given over to a tyrannical president and thereby nullifying the power of a third branch of government.

It was never intended for a president to violate the laws of this nation by fiat.

It was never intended for a president to become a self serving self appointed pseudo-dictator.

It was never intended for a panel of judges to act as a 4th branch of government ruling unlawfully through opinionated scoundrels voting party line and ignoring the law as written.

It was never intended for judges to write law themselves and usurp the authority of the judicial branch of government imposing their own opinions legislatively on the American citizenry.

It was never intended for a RINO ruling class to establish itself against the will of the people.

It was never intended that government infringe upon the freedom of religion.

It was never intended that government divide the people into races and classes and sow discontent amongst them.

It was never intended for lowly mayors to subvert the second amendment of its citizenry or to infringe upon their rights as Americans in any way. Even in N.Y. you are still an American citizen with constitutional rights.

It was never intended for the government to repress the free speech of people who disagree with its decrees.

It was never intended for federal government to rule over local and state authority concerning how the states and municipalities are governed at local levels.

It was never intended that government take away any citizens property rights for any reason.

It was not intended for the government to subvert the second amendment in any way.

It was never intended that government be able to blackmail citizens or organizations through the IRS or any other puppet government enforcement organization

It was never intended for federal government to subvert states rights through illegal mandates.

It was never intended for outside enemy's of America such as the EPA to be self governing, self legislative and have unlimited self appointed power over the people.

It was never intended that immigration laws be violated by any single branch of government.

It was never intended that treaties be made with foreign nations outside of congress without congressional approval. Presidents or tyrants in this case, are not permitted to make international law or treatise no matter what they call them.

It was never intended that any president wage a war in any manner against any nation without congressional approval.

It was never intended that the peoples tax money be given to those who are here illegally.

It was never intended that sanctuary cities be founded to subvert the laws of the land.

It was never intended that someone breaking the laws of this country come here to give birth and claim the child as an American citizen. (It is the same as if an American gave birth in a foreign country, the child would remain American and NOT a citizen of that country. That law has been bastardized by corrupt politicians.

It was never intended there be a separation of church and state. That was bastardized by politicians who adapted irrelevant sources and then added them to their "hidden meanings" of the constitution. That came from private letters not relating to the constitution bastardized by lawyers with agendas.

It was not intended for Marxists, Socialists, and Communists to take over our institutions of learning to proselytize our children through political agendas behind our backs.

It was not intended that a president be able to destroy private business through subversion.

I could go on until my fingers wore through the keyboard onto the desktop about all that is NOT functioning properly in American government today.

You can tell me that government is working as intended but I disagree most heartily.

"Did you READ the Jefferson letter??"

Yes I did. However something stands out to me. Todays population has been indoctrinated to hate America through our educations systems. Secondly the American people for the most part today are too docile to war against this government. They have been brainwashed into believing the second amendment was given for hunting squirrels and the likes rather than putting down a tyrannical oppressive government that has become uncontrollable. Technology is in the hands of the oppressors. Knowledge is power and the Americans who voice firm opposition would be eliminated during the dead of night without even their closest neighbors being aware of that fact. The ability to unite and communicate is all under full control of tyrants. No militia could possible amass to defend America from the tyranny that is been set upon us..United together we all stand on our own, isolated. Politicians from the smallest to the greatest have been corrupted. Our laws mean nothing and where their is lawlessness in leadership lawlessness abounds throughout the citizenry. Lawlessness begets lawlessness.

"You are on a public forum freely speaking your mind.
Does it get any better than that??"

A most temporary closely monitored status at best.

Already punishments and penalty's are being proposed for speaking out against the contrived "scientific" propaganda spewed by some, and some citizens have already been fined and some businesses have been closed for not accepting perversion as the norm. The Internet speech police are taking names and have been for some time. When the set time comes they will use the prosecution arm, the attorney general, and the thuggery arm of the government, the IRS, against American citizens simply because of expressed opinions. They will take all means necessary to silence dissenters. The EPA will threaten and close business not towing the propaganda line. I have read things you have posted and I believe you also sense that these things are so. Even punishments are proposed for "thought crimes" and have been put under consideration by the ruling elite. That time is not far from us. After all, isn't that what Socialism, Communism, and Marxism are all about?

You sound very rational although we differ in some points. I have read the constitution and the Bill of Rights, and I was even taught those in school, but alas "the times they are a changin" and have been for some time now. This is not the populace of Jefferson or the founding fathers. We are living a mostly Godless society now. Schools preach socialism rather than math. Schools teach a hatred for capitalism instead of English. Schools have been teaching and brainwashing your children to accept Communism or Socialism as a preferred method of government. Instead of History students are taught "Revised History". History with leftist agendas permeated with lies containing very little actual truth in it. What did mooshell say in a speech? "We have to re write history". The school books have been filled with lies and forms of higher education promote propaganda rather than studies. Sexual perversion has been taught children in our schools through cutesy books such as "I have two Mommies" and the likes.

There is no way out of this.

Please send me an ounce or two of what you're smoking.

"The founding fathers of this country preferred what is happening TODAY to any other alternative form of government. These guys weren't stupid. They KNEW the consequences of their actions. What you see TODAY was anticipated and WELCOMED by the founding fathers of this country."

Sorry, that is nonsense. The founders would have been grabbing their guns long before now. Their contempt for psuedo democracy exceeded my own which saying a lot. That they would have welcomed this moral, cultural and political anarchy is simply ridiculous.

I think you may owe King George an apology - even he would not have accepted this farce we pretend to revere. That the founders would not have accepted it is inherent in the actions they took against the Mad King who did much less damage to us or his own country than this current pack of baying, venal hounds.

Great quotes Badstrat. Let's not forget basic quotes that guy Moses copied onto some tablet. I know it was a long time ago, but somehow they seem even more relevant today. Just saying...

" If a person wants to worship God in a certain way, he/she has the RIGHT to worship as they please."

That is unless a Christian business or individual wishes NOT to participate in any way to a sinful procedure such as a homosexual "wedding". which the God that they worship calls an abomination and a sin. So it really just how free is the Christian religion in obamas America? Truly too many incidents to list of Christian persecution in America by government organizations and judicial systems. Perhaps you have not noticed the hostility and attacks on the Christian religion through the years since we have been declining as a Christian nation through deed to a Christian nation of lip service..

"
You like Black Cavendish, Mike?"

Uh...yeah...that's it! :)

Let me tackle this from a (mere, in the CS Lewis sense of 'fundamental') Christianity:

The founders had to grapple with a very real understanding of man's inherent sinfulness and venality. Hence the republic, constructed to restrict government which gives man too much power to indulge his worst instincts.

Yet they knew we would find ways to screw it up.

What they couldn't know is how moribund we would become, how supine. they were very political men, most Americans are not, nor are we nearly as well educated because we do not read nor research (as a group(s)).

Politically, we are balkanized and have no power.

The founders should have calibrated a call to armed revolution based upon a check list or something. I doubt they'd they'd be too happy with the current state of affairs. It's too far gone.

btw - sorry if sounded disrespectful, printed text doesn't convey good humor as one might wish it to.

cheers

" BTW- the founding fathers weren't Christian 'fundamentalist'. They had different slants on religion as well as politics (mostly Christian)."

You are correct.

The reason American government could function is that individuals, for the most part, were Christian ands subject to God, a higher authority. And this is the same exact reason that democracy (let alone a republic) can not be successfully instated in any Godless nation. God has set into place rules that demand men think of their brothers above themselves. When men have no higher authority to account to for their behavior they become a law unto themselves, each working towards his own selfish desires with no consideration for others. Our tyrannical entrenched ruling class is a prime example, in this each member of government seeks to empower himself and make his own personal demands on the people they rule. This brings about the chaos that is seen in most nations today. When a man is a law unto himself, he is lawless to God, and when men are lawless to God, their lawlessness is used to lift themselves up and oppress their fellow man. This is the true nature of man for the heart of the carnal man is filled with all manner of evil. It is written of those who deny God:

Rom 1:28 And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do the things not right, having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, iniquity, covetousness, malice, being full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, evil habits, becoming whisperers, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, proud, braggarts, devisers of evil things, disobedient to parents, without discernment, covenant breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful, who knowing the righteous order of God, that those practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but also approve those practicing them.

For this reason nations denying God are destined to destroy themselves.
