That's really odd...I see 2 posts listed, but I only see Jook's reply...no original post.
Anyway, I thought the guy should not have used that kind of language, and I think if Trump is smart, Mexico will pay for the wall. He hasn't let out any details, but all I have to do is make a slight adjustment to what I've said for at least 10 years would stop illegal immigration .
Implement good border security.
Stop all financial aid to Mexico and all countries letting their people come here.
Stop tourist traffic on a temporary basis going into Mexico, Americans are not safe south of the border.
Implement a 25% fee on all wire transfers of money into Mexico. yes I realize this will hurt some businesses. This will pass.
Stop all imports coming in from Mexico.
Tell Mexico to stop illegal immigration and drug cartels, and we'll talk money again.
Then tell them by the way, pay for the wall too.
Watch it happen, and fast.
When you hit them in their pocket book, politicians LISTEN. Nothing else works. Money gets their attention in a big hurry. Or loss of it... Trump just might be able to negotiate well enough, but if he has the smarts I think he does, he'll do what I just outlined. Mexico will beg to pay for the wall just to get their billions in foreign aid back and the not insignificant tourist dollars too. Not to mention political pressure from Venezuela and all the other countries suddenly not getting a penny from the good old US of A...

Back in 2006/07 when I had mixed feelings about the Wall on the Mexican border I did a song about it. Check it out. Its on my profile for a bit.
Can you name all the people on it?
Edit; forgot to bring up the fact that the snare drum is set up to sound like a gun shot.

Cool RG. Billy you keep nailing this stuff right on the head. While every one else is saying it is ridiculous nonsense, you have it figured out. You have a personal line to Donald or are you just that smart.
Good stuff.
Oh yeah Jookey, there is strange stuff like that happening all over this site. I've seen it more than once.

OK willie or who you pretend to be. Obviously you have no intention to involve yourself in any reasonable discussion.
Meaningless loss. Good luck. No animosity, no concern, just good luck.

Jook - I just reported this thread, as I do every time little willie shows up. I'm also trying to get them to file criminal charges, it's way past time for it. I also told them about the suspected cloning or hijacking of user accounts. Didn't think of that being related to the original post not showing up though. Thanks for the heads up.
And I'm Billy. Many of the people who have been here for a while have known that for a long time, as a relative newcomer you didn't. But billy is my first name. A lot of us know each others first names, it takes a while to pick up on it.
Glen - No I don't know Trump, I'm just that smart. Really am, IQ is around 145 or so...it was tested at 151 when I was about 7. Last time I did a online IQ test I got 146. But this has little to do with smart, it's just a matter of knowing politicians. Stop the money. It's that simple. Shut off the money and watch any politician in the world get your undivided attention right this second. Works like a charm.

I usually use Jook...seems to be the most common.
I've met George a couple of times, he lives about 2 hours from me. Great guy.
There was a section of I-10 between Houston and Baytown that was under construction for 10 years or more and never got finished. I moved out of Houston and it was still under construction, after about a half dozen contractors had come and gone.
You should see the road I live on...I almost lost my bicycle in a pot hole not long ago. A neighbor's dog wandered into a pothole and wasn't seen for days. I think some have Volkswagens down there.
OK seriously, it was just resurfaced, or partially anyway, just a week ago. It won't last, they didn't do it right. we should be doing road repairs the way I hear Europe does. I saw someone interviewed a while back who said in Germany they bring out a heavy machine and press it when they fill a pothole, it stays in good shape for years. Here they might last 6 months. They throw some asphalt in with a shovel, drive a dump truck over it and leave. Costs too much to do it right once. So they redo it multiple times and spend 3 or 4 times as much over 15 years.
I noticed a similar situation when I was stationed in Norfolk and lived in north Carolina. When I crossed into NC, the roads smoothed out instantly, it was like the difference in night and day. I told people all the time I knew exactly when I hit NC without even looking for the sign.
But the roads here in the small town where i live are horrible. People complain about it all the time. There are streets in town I refuse to drive on. The main highway that goes to Beaumont is in good shape, but it's maintained by the state. Locally it's a much different story. I've driven I-10 between Baton Rouge and Lake Charles, there is a 10 mile stretch or so that is corduroy, you can barely drink coffee on that road, it's terrible. Worst place on I-10 I've seen. I-20 between Monroe and Shreveport is much better, and it was resurfaced a couple of years ago, but was already much better than the section of I-10 west of Baton Rouge. Roads all over need attention.
I don't know if you've ever ridden the Autobahn in Germany, it was 1972 or so when I was there but it was excellent. Since they could drive as fast as they wanted, it was kept in good shape, a rough road at 120MPH would be a disaster...and some folks drove faster than that. What will a Porche do? 150? If we did roads like they do, it would be as good here too, but everything is done on the cheap. Even the original build is done as fast and cheap as possible. so the roads aren't as good to begin with, and don't last as long either, then the maintenance costs a fortune because they refuse to do it right...that would cost a few bucks more.
