We have been through this before... Yes, this a good thing... Ronald Reagan solved a similar problem in less than 2 minutes... By the way, as of this morning 2 more contractors have captured and in Iraq. The policy of dealing with terrorists in a reasonable manner, is falling short of the need to put the fear of Americas strength in these assssholes lives.

Talk about taking things out of historical context. It is clear YOU DON'T PAY ATTENTION. BAH,BAAH,BAAAHHHH.
Don't step in the sheep dip to deep. We don't know if you can swim.

For people with short memories:
Iran was working closely with Israel to provide weapons on the QT for the Nicaraguan Contras. I met some of those guys. Even an old anti-commie fighter like me couldn't get behind that bunch.
Many of these 'ancient hatreds' don't go back as far as you might think. Israel at the time was also in bed with Turkey.
It seems like the ME is always more stable when the US buts out. It ain't our turf. It ain't our business.

Good points Mike. Our country and the world has become energy dependent on the middle east.
This is stuff that goes all the back WW2.
We have been led by such shorted politicians, for so long, we have come to a point of chaos and anarchy of the choice of world wide energy.
We have had the resources to develop GREEN energy for over sixty years.
Now we have a bunch of school boys fighting over a candy bar that was found and supported by the free world for ages. Cheap oil.
We need long term solutions. Should I repeat that?
Short term, we as a people should NEVER commit our boys to ANY conflict unless the intent is to COMPLETELY destroy the perceived enemy. When and if we ever do, our responsibility is NOT rebuilding an enemy, but to support our VETERANS with the full resources of great nation.
