I'm trying to figure out what you're upset about. Is there something he said that isn't true? Do 70% of murders go unsolved? Did the Police department shrink by 40%? That's a dangerous mix. The point of that blog seemed to be that the rosy picture being painted does not tell the real story.

Michigan has finally reversed the trend of a dwindling population...but apparently those moving in are mostly international immigrants (muslim).

http://www.mlive.com/news/index.ssf/201 ... opula.html

The estimates, released last month, indicate that Michigan's population grew in 2012 for the first time since 2004, inching upwards from 9,876,801 in 2011 to 9,883,360.

Most of that growth was natural, as births outnumbered deaths. But state demographer Ken Darga attributed some of the gains to shifting migration patterns, noting that increased international immigration is offsetting continued domestic losses.

Michigan was the only state to lose population between the 2000 and 2010 Census. And despite signs of a rebound, the state continues to lose population share as other states grow more quickly.

When it comes to music, Detroit is THE American rock city historically. Only San Francisco could challenge that position. No debate there whatsoever!

But it seems to happen because of the depression over the city. In other words, it is a hard life that inspires the art of rock/blues/rap and Detroit qualifies in that respect.

I've been to Detroit at least a half dozen times. How many times you been out of it? I didn't know Fox news had ever said anything about Detroit until you told me, btw. You seem to keep up with them better than I.

My impression every time is that there is a unique depression over that city that doesn't exist anywhere else that I've seen, almost resembling a zombie apocalypse.

I think it's the curse of Henry Ford and Father Coughlin that made Detroit such a spiritually dark place. I'd love to see a renaissance revival there, so less of them would need to move into Texas.
