Black Friday... NATIONAL INSTANT CHECKS, processed 185,345 requests for gun clearance and sales. 2 every second.

Now obama is going to give a speech from the oval office tonight.

Is he going to move against muslim terrorism?... OR... Is he going to move to ensure the gun laws are so strict that every AMERICAN has NO RIGHT to self defense against anyone?

This could be the turning point.

Are you suggesting

Leaders have guns.

Sheep don't?

So even if the sheep had guns they would never us them?

interesting to say the least.

The American society is a brutal country, but less brutal than the barbarians elsewhere.

The FBI does their job very well. POTUS and his sheep stop them and the Military from doing their jobs correctly.

We still don't know details of WHO bought those weapons. I'll bet the FBI are investigating the the links that got the guns from the dealer to these terrorists. Were they sold/given/traded, or stolen? The FACT is that if those weapons had NOT been sold to the first buyer, then they would not have made their way to the a*holes who killed all those people. Could they have bought/found/been given other weapons, no doubt, but that's really not the point - the point is THOSE WEAPONS would not have reached their hands.

and how many guns does a person need to own for "self defense"?

is a hand gun and a rifle not enough? why does anyone "need" more than that for "self defense"? why does anyone need an assault weapon..... or two or three of them?

yes jook there are laws in place re. background checks and the like. sadly they're not strict and thorough enough.

i'll say it again for those who would try to distort and mislead. i don't want everyone's guns confiscated. never have.... and so i've never said anything close to that. i'm perfectly fine w responsible law abiding citizens having the means to protect themselves by owning a gun or two. but 7, eight, ten, fifteen???? and assault rifles? sorry, if you need an armory for "self defense" it's time to move to another neighborhood.

Easy to say in the midwest for now....

Your boy is making sure that you will need an armory in the very near future.

if only. certainly it ain't Baltimore but it's amazing how much violent crime has increased since we moved to MO in '84. and not only in KC and St. Louis but here in MIdMO where we reside....Jefferson City, Columbia. not good.

i remain unconvinced that the solution to keeping everyone safe is MORE guns.

The FBI does know who bought the rifles used in San Bernadino, they're not releasing the name.

Anyone who thinks if they had not been able to buy guns legally they would not have them is a fool. More guns are available on the black market than you would ever believe. France has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the world, almost a total gun ban. yet at least a half dozen terrorists were able to get them and use them against innocent civilians who had no chance to defend themselves, due to those same overly restrictive laws.

Chicago is very similar. Some of the most restrictive firearm laws in the US, yet illegal guns are confiscated by police literally every day. A police official was interviewed about this earlier this morning, something like 6000 illegal guns confiscated in Chicago this year. Illegal guns, not legally purchased through licensed dealers. In a state with some of the most strict gun laws in the country.

That's the black market folks. Gang members ignore the laws. Career criminals ignore the laws. They don't go to the local gun shop and submit to a background check. Existing background checks have not stopped one mass shooting. The almost total gun ban in France didn't stop 130 people from being killed. The already strict laws in California, probably the strictest in the country, didn't stop terrorists from getting and using high powered weapons. You think MORE laws will? Not a chance.

And who said anything about MORE guns? Show me. I don't see it. What I saw is a spike in background checks, and therefore gun sales, after a terrorist attack, by people who see their government is not going to protect them so they have to do it themselves. Nobody here has been calling for more guns. Many of the people purchasing now don't already have one. I know a few people online who already do and would like a different type, but that's a minority. Same here, I'd like a larger caliber handgun, but probably won't be able to even think about it anytime soon. But not because I want "more guns". I'd swap my existing .22 for a .38 or .357 most likely. That's not more guns, it's an upgrade.

Stop your silly false narrative. eliminating the ability of the people of this country, which is what Obama wants to do, will not make anybody safer. Criminals and terrorists would absolutely LOVE to see every single person in this country unarmed and defenseless. Criminals fear armed homeowners, but terrorists do not.

Terrorists don't care, they expect to die. They get rewarded for it. Or they think so. They already proved they are ready to face armed police, attack military installations, they're already fighting an all out war in the middle east, armed citizens will only slow them down. But slow them down we must, our government is not going to do it for us. They have already proven it.

Our military could have already stopped this threat long before it came to our shores. They have not been allowed to do so. The fighter pilots flying in Iraq have been coming out lately, telling us that 75% of their missions are stopped and they come back to base without dropping a thing. they are looking at definite targets and cannot get authorization from our white house to bomb them. That's why it just came to our shores. Now our president wants to make us sitting ducks..

Go do the research and see for yourself. Literally every country in the world that has implemented gun control has seen a subsequent rise in murder, armed assault and overall crime rates. Every time without exception. You can see it right now in Chicago. Strictest gun laws in the country, highest murder rate. It will not stop until you eliminate the black market, and nobody has been able to do that in hundreds of years. If I have to be honest, the very same patriots who started this country were getting their tea through the black market to avoid unfair taxes om legal British tea. It's been around that long. And longer.

Background checks already in place have had no effect at all. More will make no difference. More or more strict gun laws will make no difference, the black market will only get more business. And "assault weapons" have been used in less than 1% of all gun related crimes. Usually only in organized instances like this terrorist attack or a couple of bank robbing sprees. I saw a documentary on one of those just a day or two ago, most of the true crime documentaries I see involve hanguns, usually illegally gotten, through the black market. Those involving legal firearms are most commonly someone who suddenly snapped for some reason. Gun laws won't stop that, a person who suddenly goes wacko will simply use another weapon.

And that will be the result if you ban guns too. Knives are already being used, a stabbing in Great Britain was reported just yesterday. Strict gun laws there too. What happened? The guy grabbed another weapon. Exactly what I've said repeatedly. So take away knives. What will happen? Clubs, baseball bats, tire irons...take those away? Rocks are all over the place...what do you think prehistoric man used?

We don't have a gun problem, we have a human nature problem. Crime existed thousands of years before guns did. Thousands of years before metallurgy brought us knives, man was using spear tips made of rock. According to the Bible, Cain was the first murderer. Guns didn't exist, knives didn't exist, they were supposedly two of the first four humans in existence, I'm inclined to believe they hadn't even figured out how to make a spear point yet, so what did Cain use? The Bible doesn't say. My guess is his hands or a rock. Are you going to ban either of those? Hundreds of people are strangled every year. Ted Bundy strangled dozens of women. The Boston Strangler got his name that way. What are you going to ban to stop that?

We have a problem folks, and it's not a gun problem, It's a problem of morals and values. MLK said that in 1961, speaking to the black community, now it's much more widespread than that, already was. Terrorists are the worst, they place no value at all on human life. Many criminals and gang members are very little different. Gang members all over the country shoot each other over drug selling territory every day. Police officers are being targeted simply because they are police officers.

And WE, the people of this country, are being targeted because we believe in freedom. Because we let women drive. Because we educate girls. Because we believe every person should be free to endorse and follow whatever religion he chooses, or none if he chooses.

That is what is at stake here, not just gun ownership, If our president has his way, it will end. The only thing keeping you free to make those choices is the people out there willing to fight for it. Think about that before you say we need more strict gun laws. If Obama has his way, he will have every gun in this country confiscated, then who will defend YOUR rights? Don't believe it? Go look up his statements after the last couple of mass shootings. I can't give you a direct quote, I don't remember his exact words...

We need to look at Australia as an example

is basically what he said. Australia enacted a mandatory government buy back, if you didn't sell your guns back to the government, they would confiscate them. over 600,000 guns were confiscated. That's what Obama wants to do here. The crime rate in Australia has gone up seriously, something like 300%. Armed robbery went up 44% in one year. In a country that had just mostly outlawed guns. The same will happen here. I've already said it before, I'll say it again. The places in this country with the strictest gun laws, also have the highest crime rates. That is not coincidence. It's cause and effect. Take away the individual's ability to defend himself, criminals rule. Period. Take away guns, any bozo with a baseball bat can walk into your house and take whatever he wants. And they will.

Think you can defend yourself? What happens when a half dozen of them walk in with baseball bats? It will happen, that's what gangs are all about.

Wise up folks. Don't let your government disarm you.

Guns do not kill, people do. And they will use whatever they can. Knives do not kill, people do. Cars do not kill, people do. Bombs even, do not kill, people do. A person has to make and detonate the thing, even if it's on a timer, a person still had to do that.

Wake up dammit.
