Luke 12:47 -
And that slave who knew his master's will and did not get ready or act in accord with his will, will receive many lashes, but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.

this biblical verse says all, those that have been given much THE RICH AND WEALTHY, much will be required, (GIVING ALMS TO THE POOR)
the lady changing bed sheets at the Hotel Hilton works as hard or harder than the wealthy families, so it is not about being lazy, it possibly could be about what GOD HAS GIVEN IN ABUNDANCE such as a better thinking cap and thus able to generate wealth easily, and much will be required of those that God has given special talents to, like making money, the sad truth is the rich love holding on to their riches and the poor and middle class have much better rates of giving to the needy..ever heard of Leona Helmsley, read some stories about her behaviors regarding the poor and you will see the big picture about the top 1% ers in general, they hire bevies of politicians to enact laws to keep their wealth intact rather than shelling it out to help the poor, the poor they actually despise as losers.. :D

This "teaching" is a gross mischaracterization of what the Bible is saying. Being blessed has little to do with temporal riches, though being faithful in the small things will lead to favor with God and man. Otherwise, Jesus would have come to bring us gold.

Here are the verses that apply to this issue:

Exodus 20
15 “You shall not steal.
16 “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
17 “You shall not covet anything that is your neighbor’s.”

The real problem in America is that all of our candidates are a reflection of what we have become.

2 Timothy 3 -
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power

I think Trump is giving cover for the other candidates during the primary season but few really want to give him the steering wheel. His bombastic ridicule of Obama is bringing down PC barriers for the rest of the candidates. Once he brings attention to an issue, the rest have an open door to give their views about things the lapdog media would never bring up.

So I'm glad we have someone who isn't afraid to call a spade by it's name, but I wouldn't want another totalitarian bully dictator for President, even if he would be a hundred times better than the traitor we have now. Criticism of Obama's and Hillary's utter failure in both domestic and foreign policy doesn't have to be disguised as civil debate now, since we aren't dealing with people who want a civil debate on the issues anyway.

Imo, Trump will take the heat for pointing out the idiocy of Obama's and Hillary's policies, and the hideous results of the lies/propoganda coming from the ruling fascist party. Once the lapdog media is finished attacking Trump, it will be too late to hide the serious issues he has brought up, and the rest of the pack will be able to address the American public without having to soften their tone.

Either way, I don't think anyone can heal the divide Soros, Obama, and Hillary have opened.

it's obvious Ted, that you are the "ones" Jesus warned us to stay clear of with your mis-interpretation, you always side with the LETTER OF THE LAW as the pharisees with long coats pleading with religious fervor but totally escaping from the true word, yes, a follower of the "letter of the law" but lost nonetheless, you need eyes to see and you have eyes to see but have been blinded by the way of the world, you are the last person I would want to see with their feelings hurt on this forum cause you are a good guy, but, please wake up to what Jesus actually meant, and not by "LETTER OF THE LAW"' :) ui

Dayne, thats just whack, and I don't want to have an intellectual battle on the scriptures with an unarmed person.

Jesus kept the letter of the Law to show us it's intended purpose, or "spirit" of the law. You can't possibly keep the "Spirit of the Law" in ignorance of what the letter says.

So unfortunately, you are yet another victim of the biblical illiteracy of our times.

yep...i love how religion brings people together!

And liberals divide them into special interest groups based on wicked behavior.....to tear us all apart.

no Ted, Jesus warned against the adherence to The Letter of The Law case in point, the cow that falls in a ditch on a Sunday (sabbath day) and then not retrieving it because THE LETTER OF THE LAW says you can't work on the sabbath, many more cases and these fine followers of the letter of the Law (scribes and pharisees) Jesus especially has a problem with.. the law is not a set standard in stone but interpretation as Jesus points out in a scripture:

Luke 20:46- "Beware of the scribes, who like to walk around in long robes, and love respectful greetings in the market places, and chief seats in the synagogues and places of honor at banquets, who devour widows' houses, and for appearance's sake offer long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation."

they thought they were so goody two shoes following the Law and in their blindness led many astray as does the doctrine of prosperity preached by mega-churches in today's world..an utter lie by the devil himself infiltrating the true church of living simply without material possesions bringing false "joy" :D

Dayne and I aren't divided. We were never united. I've only pointed out that his envy is as much a sin as a rich man's greed. There was nothing but ridicule in every statement you've made.

My statement stands on it's own. Liberals are only about dividing people for their own partisan selfish goals.

You are exhibit A

Like I said....can't argue scripture with an unarmed man.

Those verses are about how the letter of the law was twisted into something else. Like your doing in utter ignorance of what the letter of the law says when you envy a rich person.
