Carson's "Fresh views" on Palestine

Carson recently weighed in on the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state.

“We need to look at fresh ideas,” he says, which is something that politicians who aren’t familiar with the details over a certain issue like to say. What sort of #innovative think-leadership would Carson bring to the Israel-Palestine conflict?

“We need to look at fresh ideas,” said Carson. “I don’t have any problem with the Palestinians having a state, but does it need to be within the confines of Israeli territory? Is that necessary, or can you sort of slip that area down into Egypt? Right below Israel, they have some amount of territory, and it can be adjacent. They can benefit from the many agricultural advances that were made by Israel, because if you fly over that area, you can easily see the demarcation between Egypt and Israel, in terms of one being desert and one being verdant. Technology could transform that area. So why does it need to be in an area where there’s going to be temptation for Hamas to continue firing missiles at relatively close range to Israel?”

not to mention the fact that he appears totally clueless on what the israeli/palestinian conflict is about.

to suggest the removal of palestinians from what they consider their homeland as a solution is just plain embarrassing.

try to keep up bill, there's no oil infrastructure at the north pole and no plans for such. i have it from good sources that in fact the North Pole will be used to store all that grain that won't fit in the pyramids!

The Palestinians tried creating a state out of Jordon and got their asses kicked.

Are you aware that there has already (and always) been a two-state solution that the muslims have constantly violated?

It was called TransJordan. No Jews were allowed to live in Jordan (and they were summarily kicked out of most Arab nations at the same time) but Arabs were allowed to live within Israel. That was the status quo until muslims demanded that Jews not be allowed to live. They attempted to kill them all, but instead lost that battle and were pushed back to the land areas they now occupy.

And that is the real problem with a peaceful agreement in the middle east. Only one side truly wants peace. The muslim view is that Jews are monkeys and pigs, who can be justifiably murdered. How would you reconcile that, Mark? Do you let someone move into a spare bedroom of your house if they are committed to your death?

Carson is right in saying that past solutions aren't going anywhere. Until the Arab-muslims-who-call-themselves-Palestinian drop their demand that Jews stop breathing, they have no right to live within the borders and land of Israel.

Jordan has always been the Palestinian state.

You mean the PLO terrorist Arafat tried to violently take over the legitimate Jordanian government in the late 1970s. Then they did the same thing in Lebanon, which opened the way for Hezbollah to destroy the one "christian" nation in the middle east. They are not interested in peaceful coexistence. Only a fool would believe they are.

My question for anyone who wants to take a stab at it is this:

When have the Muslim-arabs-who-call-themselves-Palestinian ever told you the truth about anything?

Arafat and Abbas have stolen every penny of foreign aid given to help their people and put it in private Swiss accounts.

as long as you believe all muslims feel that way...and you insist on a neat little bundle where you put everyone in the same bag...there's little point in pursuing this. your prejudice towards muslims leaves no room for reconciliation.

so you too think that moving them to Egypt is a good solution???

look, the palesestine situation aside....that view he put out there shows how very clueless he is on current affairs. (and by "current"... i mean from 1948 to present)

maybe Carson is a reincarnation of Andrew Jackson and is looking at the Palestinians the same way Jackson looked at the Seminole and The Civilized Tribes of Cherokee, they must be moved to more infertile scrub ground for the sake of a higher ethnic group (Israelis) :D

Mark, I owned a couple of locksmith businesses in the 90s and in one of those companies MOST of my clients were muslims. I genuinely like/love most of them, and am welcome in their homes. I have been hosted by Syrian, Iranian, Iraqi, Egyptian, and Jordanian friends going all the way back to 1978.

I've also got a Sudanese muslim friend reading from the bible on one of my songs (in 1999) because he was upset when I told him the muslims in the north are enslaving Christians in the south.

You can't paint me with that stick. There might be someone on the boards with as much experience with this as me...but it ain't you. I'm directly involved in issues that pertain to this conflict, and have been so for 20 years now.

We were discussing the situation in Israel and my comments are spot on, whether you recognize it or not. They not only believe that you are descended from apes and pigs, they are openly teaching it in Palestinian elementary school, and in the summer camps for 5 year olds they teach bomb-making.

I never said that. What I said is pretty clear, and you choose to mischaracterize it only because of your prejudice against Carson. That makes you a racist, according to Obama, since you disagreed with a black man.

No more clueless than the people you've voted for twice in a row. In fact, much more capable and intelligent...though I agree he's probably not smart for falling into the "gotcha" traps being set for him.

He's not my candidate and never was. But he's a more decent person than what we've got BY FAR....and you are obviously a racist for disagreeing with and criticizing him.

That works both ways, ya know.
