Hey! I resemble that remark!

But really, James, are you not familiar with the ins and outs of the internet?

You'll have to excuse "barney mike". His elevator doesn't go all the way to the top. For that reason he still hasn't come to the realization that the people on this forum use the same screen names in EVERY section of BandMix :) (Don't let his spelling of "section" or "chicken sh*t" confuse you. He means well.)

Very few use real names, and some times the profiles are also fabricated by some Why? Because it's the Internet

Me being somewhat computer illiterate when I first joined this site, it was explained to me so that folks can't steal your identity. Don't know if this is true. Better to be safe than sorry is my thinking. Once you earn your wings we might let you know our real names. :D

Excellent Question ... In my opinion it in fact is to a great extent that they are indeed Cowards. Not only this there are some who are stupid cowards perhaps ... thinking that no one knows who they truly are. the facade that masquerades as "government" will soon set them straight on that.
The use of "Peofile" names is to me much like a nickname. But the idea that there is some sort of unwritten rule on the "internet" and "social media" regarding not using your real name is pure crap. Civilisation as it is laughingly called has degenerated to such an extent and fallen so very low that no one wants to take responsibility for their actions of what they say and in the growing atmosphere of Tyranny now FEAR and COWARDICE prevails.
Political and Corporate Filth have bodyguards and fear walking amongst those they are responsible to. It is indeed a sad state of affairs.

'Mike Talbot' has been my musical identity for many years. I simply carried it over into my computer space.

I used it on an IT job for screening when I was selling off some of the company's resources - I knew if the call was for 'Talbot' I needed to switch personalities.

The poster seems clever - I'm sure he can figure out why I chose Talbot.

I'd note that my best pal is a computer security whiz and he says better safe than sorry. He and I have both worked at places that got hacked and it was always for ignoring the fundamentals.

cheers
Talbot

Planet guy ... You know that I have never made any secret of my name here. Talbot explained quite clearly why and what he uses ... so did I quite some time ago upon this thread. Your little dig hit rock. But I do not take any of it as insult. I appreciate the honest way you addressed the Jazz Musician thing by the way. Concise and truthful ... no one could take any exception to it I believe.
As Musicians and called by whatever name ... we all have taken paths not always well beaten. Most it seems have developed and matured with age and experience ... at least to the extent that they are more mature than they were when they began playing with things. There is great power in making, creating, playing music. It is sound and as such the basis of all things, the supreme method of manifestation and expression. It runs the gamut from chilling to beautiful. It is what should in fact bind us all together like the little dots of the world. Imagine the power of many little dots together, banded as it were.
Music is coming under the filthy boot of censorship along with everything else. Words and music can counter this. It will come that each of us must choose what they will or will not do in this respect. For all of us this will be an eternal choice. I hope truly that each makes his own choice unencumbered by fear, anger or cowardice.

MAY WE ALL LIVE WELL AND DIE WELL.

hmmm. this has not been my experience. i still make the music i choose and get to perform it live quite frequently (by today's standards as the mkt allows).

i still see there's plenty of rap being produced/marketed/sold/consumed that's drenched in profanity and glorifies violence, gang life, cop killings, and misogyny ...no censorship there.

where is this censorship you speak of? i'm genuinely curious here. please give some concrete examples if you can, and limit conjecture and prophecies of what you believe WILL soon happen.... or go there as well.

glad you didn't take it as insult as that was not my intention. more so a friendly and tongue in cheek elbow lightly planted in your ribs after you held forth on cowards who choose to remain anonymous w their screen names
