Democrats Debate, but Donald Trump Has the Best Line of the Night

While Tuesday night’s CNN political debate was intended as an opportunity for one of the Democrat Party presidential hopefuls to separate him or herself from the rest of the pack, the best line of the night came from a man who was not even in the room with the debaters nor in the same party.

In effect, Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump stole the show with a perfectly-timed tweet explaining that Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Martin O’Malley, Jim Webb, and Lincoln Chafee spent their night talking about the all the free stuff they were going to give away including ObamaCare benefits and tuition breaks for illegal immigrants without once mentioning what they would do to make conditions better for U.S. military veterans.

Amid the Obama administration’s Veterans Affairs (VA) scandal, the punishment for secret waiting lists which have left veterans dying while the government they served denied them medical care has been scant, and the agency has seen no substantial reforms. Trump has made veterans’ care a major talking point in his stump speeches.

To be fair, some of the presidential hopefuls talked about giving away free stuff more than others those would be Sanders, Clinton, and O’Malley. And former Senator Jim Webb (and, as Mediaite points out, Sanders) did talk about what he had done in the past with the post-9/11 G.I. Bill but what would be done in the future is a completely different subject.

So Trump tweeted: Notice that illegal immigrants will be given ObamaCare and free college tuition but nothing has been mentioned about our VETERANS #DemDebate It was the best line of the night by far.

The billionaire also overshadowed Democrats in social media engagement. Time declared that Trump won Twitter during the debate, based on data saying he picked up 60,000 new followers about 4 times as many as Clinton. Trump’s tweet at the time of this writing has nearly 11,000 retweets and 17,000 favorites, while Clinton’s biggest tweet of the night only reached 3,300 retweets and 4,800 favorites.

right on Mark, it was very civil, unlike the Republicans "gnashing of teeth" presidential debate.. they are a vicious breed, even turncoats, ousting Boehner like they did, and then not smart enough to agree on a replacement? are you sure people that Republicans are the best choice for anything?

... unbelievable how some of the most creative, sensitive and caring individuals in that sick society known as "America" can all be conditioned, taken in and restricted ... bantering about deceptive lying and still they play the Uncle Wiggly Game.

Vote and prove yourselves.

or don't vote... and prove yourself unworthy of living here and being a U.S citizen.

if all you're gonna do is sit on the sidelines and bitch about how bad everything is, you get what you deserve. THAT is the pinnacle of being a mindless sheep, a useless eater, and living an uninformed existence.

and speaking of an "uninformed existence"....it doesn't get much more uninformed or clueless than believing this country will look the same under a presidency from clinton or sanders as it would under a presidency of Trump or any his teamates.

that's the problem w lazy assed generalizing and lumping things into one easily managed pkg.....you miss the bigger picture.

yeah, politicians DO have things in common. no argument. too often they're looking out for THEIR interests. too often they're corrupt. too often they don't represent the people who elected them.

but if you think the varying views of the candidates on immigration, gun legislation, climate control, income inequity, race relations, etc won't make any difference in what this country looks like after 4 yrs w the next prez....than you need to wake up from your snooze.

or to paraphrase glenny, "if you hate it so much here...leave."

well, I for one, after reading many of vamp's posts, believe him to be pretty much correct, If I read him right, and that is the political filth are in bed with the rich, wealthy and powerful elite, and the filthy scum politicians have pretty much been bought off by the Koch bros. and other filth, and America is no longer "BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE" but has laws put in place by the rich and powerful to further their profit interests at the common people's expense.. listen to Bernie Sanders , he has it figured out, if vamp does not..
