don't know if this is musical topic, or whether it is a brain-dead liberal flash of brilliance, but all the crap I was spewing about not being able to render to disk .wav files as a master file has been overcome, I really started digging in that Ableton user's manual and on page 55 I found what I was doing wrong and have now successfully rendered that tune and it is 45.2 mbs long file, but now my next objective is seeing if I can convert it into a more manageble size in perhaps a mp3 format and then see if the library will allow uploads? guess I will have to get a USB stick since my Lacie external harddrive has to be powered using a 110VAC plug, doubt if the library would go along using their electricity too..

When ever you are tempted to mix politics with music, take a couple hits of something and remember Jefferson Airplane.
btw - I hate recording. I have those kinds of problems a lot and even my latest software seems to exist to taunt me.

hey Mike, I found a few, I think unused cd's and have burned this new tune onto one and if Slacker does not want it mailed to him, maybe you, or Mark, or Ted, or jimmy, or Glen, Haley, Schmed, or anybody else that frequents this board and participates.. LOL, might want one mailed to them, on the house.. I count 8 blanks but one blank so far is not getting recognized in the CD-RW burner?

Sometimes that happens. I have a stack of blank DVDs my sister bought 3 inches high, I've tried a dozen and not one is recognized at all. The ones I bought before moving here have all worked perfect. I have no idea why.
You might try finding a CD cleaner disk and running it, if the laser eye gets dusty it can interfere with the operation of the burner. I have a couple I've been using for years, it's just a standard disk with a soft brush it uses to clean the lens on the laser eye. Mine also have an audio file that tells you what's happening, when it finishes playing it's done.
You might try asking the library, the one here had no problem letting me use their AC to power my laptop. They might let you bring your external drive if you ask. If you have a Big Lots store in your area check there, they often have USB drives at decent prices.
