I've been a paid member for two weeks, had no response to the 8 messages I sent to people who claim they are looking for a drummer in my area and have had only one person visit my profile. That's good enough reason to convince me this is a waste of money.

No one ever said it would be easy! When contacting others from this site - are you noticing when the last time was they updated their profile? Some people are long gone. Others are 'wannabes' - they really don't have the experience or knowledge and when faced wiht an actual 'do it' challenge they disappear. Others are just plain rude and don't reply!

I noticed you have no audio or video on your profile - this can be a real drawback in this day and age, and many people won't bother with someone who can't, at least, show what they're capable of. I've wasted far too many hours auditioning people who 'said' they could play, but had no music samples to pre-audition them.

A number of people here have found bands/players here - the last 2 bands I was in were through this site.

Thanks for your reply to my whining. You are spot on. I do have a recording of my drumming, unfortunately, it's on a 45 vinyl record. Once I converted it to digital but alas, I can't find it anywhere. Too many new computers and operating system upgrades, I'm afraid. But, I will work on that. I appreciate your response. It gives me a little faith that there are people here and it's not just a sham.

Yes this site DOES work

We put together a band playing a very niche style of old school funk... exactly what I wanted to do back in the day when it was 'new school'

Bandmix put 7 like minded players in touch and were up and running.

Don't moan about no nibbles if you haven't got audio.

Just record it on your phone so other players can figure if you fit.

I can see from your profile, you're no newbie player...so the following is aimed at other readers

It needn't be a pro production, you can either play or you can't - and if you can't - there'll be others at your level who will get in touch - just need to see what you're at.

This is forum, don't forget! No one obliged to find job for you. And site can't manage other users, or force them to answer you. The site works fine, problem is only the users or perhaps in your messages.

I'm intrigued with this Mary Young character. I could use a good verbal asskicking every now and then, just not from that jazz dork, Plant Guy!

Seems to have an 'english as second language' issue. Or maybe just a (grammar) school drop-out?!
