5 wiser than God, who created the institution of marriage, liberals twist the 14th amendment to allow perversion. Great day indeed. But what do the Islams think? I hope we don't offend them.

By a 5-4 ruling, the Supreme Court Friday struck down four state marriage laws, paving the way for gay marriage to be legal in all 50 states.

The ruling in Obergefell v. Hodges said the 14th Amendment requires a state to license a marriage between people of same-sex, and also recognize same-sex marriages from out of state.

Gay-rights activists, who have been longing for this day for 25 years, have planned parties and celebrations around the nation.

Officials in counties in many states that currently do not permit same-sex marriage have prepared documents and personnel to start marrying couples shortly after a favorable Supreme Court ruling, Freedom to Marry said.

Opponents of same-sex marriage are expecting new battles over religious freedom and freedom of speech that will be as divisive and deep as the battle over abortion rights.

If the Supreme Court “invents a constitutional right to gay marriage, we’re looking at the next Roe v. Wade, which sparked more than 40 years of controversy and there’s still no resolution,” Frank Cannon, president of American Principles in Action, said this week.

I'm sure Jesus would have approved, he hung around the drunks, prostitutes and I'm sure a few gay people.

You obviously don't know what the Bible says about it.

For a man to lay with man is an abomination unto God. (paraphrased, I don't remember the exact quote)

And that is from someone who is not religious...there are a couple of other statements in the Bible about it but I don't know what they say. I do know that homosexual activity is specifically pointed out as a sin in the Bible.

So no, Jesus would not have supported it.

I saw an interesting quote, can't remember who said it. The Supreme Court didn't originally define marriage, they have no right to redefine it. The Supreme Court has become a collective political operative, time to impeach them all and start over and impose term limits.

This is not only far from over, it will start a whole lot more trouble when churches start refusing to marry same sex couples because it goes against their religious doctrines.

Obviously he proudly and arrogantly speaks out of complete ignorance concerning the nature of God. I do not understand how someone who does not even believe in God let alone know him can suggest that he knows what the god he doesn't even believe exists would do in a given circumstance. It must be the arrogance of liberalism. Go figure.

So you think that Jesus would approve. For reference: God the father never interacted with man directly. Jesus Christ was the God in the Old testament and of him it is said:

Col 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities--all things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Jesus is the God of the old Testament who dealt with man. Jesus Christ was the God who gave these commandments to man. It is the God of the Old Testament, Jesus Christ, who gave himself as a sacrifice for all mankind who said:

Lev 18:22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. And
Lev 20:13 And if a man has sex relations with a man, the two of them have done a disgusting thing: let them be put to death; their blood will be on them.

And through inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ wrote:

Rom 1:25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

In light of this even one such as yourself should be able to understand that Jesus did not approve of homosexuality. So next time you start speaking for Jesus, remember these things that I have taught you. And to better help you to understand who this Christ is, I have added this for your consideration, in order that you might understand what he gave up, only to be hung on the cross, for you. This is the nature of the one whose salvation you reject.

Phi 2:5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

I also rejected God for years. But I am not a foolish man who would gamble with my soul so I hedged my bet by asking him this one day "God, if you are real, please reveal yourself to me as I do not wish to end up on the wrong side" And he did. Now I do know him, and I assure you that he would not approve of homosexual marriage. Although he loves the person, he hates the sin of homosexuality. Jesus never told the sinners in his midst to keep sinning, rather he insisted that they stop sinning. Those people stopped being drunks, prostitutes, and (perhaps some) gays when they met him and understood who he was.

Here is wisdom. Never mock what you can't see, or what you can't feel, or what you do not believe exists, for can hurt you.

Yep, some guys with their own agendas.

What I find a little strange is people using the Bible as the 'be-all end-all' means of argument, but in other places discussing Neanderthals and ancestors from 40,000 years ago, when the bible clearly indicates that 'God created man' was more recently than that.
