Amazon Takes Down Confederate Flag, Continues to Sell Communist Merchandise

http://www.breitbart.com/big-government ... rchandise/

by Katie McHugh23 Jun 20150
In a marketing move that will shock no one, Amazon removed the Confederate flag after a howling mob of both liberals and brown-nosing conservatives demanded the “symbol of hate” be stricken from its shelves.

But these comrades can rest easy, knowing that they’ll have plenty of opportunities to stock up on Communist merchandise after their latest purge.

Amazon sells a huge variety of shirts, posters, you-name-it featuring the hammer and sickle, Joseph Stalin’s mustache, all things Che Guevara, Vladimir Lenin and other colorful revolutionaries who fought to make the world a better place, man. Guevara’s book Guerilla Warfare is on sale in four different formats. In one of the worst genocides in modern times, Stalin forcibly starved Ukrainian peasants in what’s known as the Holodomor, a “terror-famine” that left anywhere from 2.4 million to 7.5 million Ukrainian peasants dead in 1933.

Communism is chic: Amazon’s senior vice president Jay Carney proudly features Soviet Union war propaganda in his lavish home, after all. “Have you enlisted in the army?” a poster featured by The Washingtonian Magazine photo splash asks.

Helpful reminder — Communism led to the deaths of 94 million people world-wide within a hundred years. That’s approximately 93,999,991 more murders than a drug-addled, fatherless loser committed in Charleston.

It makes me laugh to hear the 'red terror' talk so long after it has ceased to be a threat!

That comment was part of the article, not Badstrat's comment. I read it before he posted it. You obviously did not.

This is yet another example of the hypocrisy going on in politics, often on both sides of the fence. Try to erase a part of history because it doesn't suit your political agenda, while the businesses scrambling onto the bandwagon to be "politically correct" are still selling items related to some of the most despicable acts ever committed in the world. Stalin was responsible for the deaths of millions of his own people, including by starving them, murdered all of his political opponents, nearly bankrupted his country while he lived in luxury...

Most of the southerners displaying the Confederate flag see it simply as a display of southern pride, and have little or no idea of its origins or original meaning. It also had absolutely nothing to do with the church shooting in Charleston. The pictures I saw showed him standing on an American flag, the flags on his jacket were African not Confederate. Truly a monster, but what he did had nothing to do with the rebel flag.

The American flag is next, it's already starting. A college in California had already tried to ban it before this shooting occurred. Fortunately that effort failed. It will be tried again though. Some dolt is trying to ban the movie "Gone With the Wind". I'm not a huge fan of it, but I don't see anybody trying to ban WWII movies, rap "music" with all the vulgarities, n words and degradation of women, glorification of drugs and violence...I saw a brief clip of Kanye whoever at some awards show, it was more bleeps than anything else. Disgusting. But nobody's trying to ban it.

This is yet another attack by the politically correct, and it won't stop any time soon. Make fun of it all you want, you're only showing your stupidity by refusing to have a serious discussion concerning a serious problem. Freedom of speech says you can do it, better enjoy that while it lasts because it's under attack too, and freedom of speech also says I can tell you when you are being stupid. I've said it before and I'll say it again, don't like it? Don't be stupid. Go ahead with your ignorant ridicule and name calling, I'm up for some cheap entertainment...I already know I won't see an intelligent discussion, you've proven beyond all doubt you intend to fight that to the bitter end...which is incredibly stupid.

Conficius is usually credited with a saying...it is better to remain silent and be thought of as a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt.

There's been no doubt around here for a long time...this stream of banal tripe is just more proof. Not an intelligent comment in the bunch.

Horowitz at Heritage Foundation: 'The Communist Party Is The Democratic Party'
by Breitbart News12 Nov 20130

http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism ... -heritage/

On Tuesday, former Marxist-turned-conservative icon David Horowitz spoke at the Heritage Foundation to mark the launch of what will be a ten-volume compendium of his writings on leftism, The Black Book of the American Left. In his wide-ranging speech, Horowitz described his transition from left to right, and discussed the shortcomings of a conservative movement unwilling to deal with the ugly realities of what the American left represents.

Horowitz began by distinguishing the David Horowitz Freedom Center from other think tanks, instead characterizing it as a “battle tank.” He labeled himself “monomaniacal” in his focus on the left and its relation to communism. “There are hedgehogs and foxes. The foxes know many things. And the hedgehogs know one thing. I am a hedgehog,” he joked.

“My parents called themselves progressives,” Horowitz explained with regard to his communist parents. “The agenda was a Soviet America…the slogan of the communist party in those days was peace, jobs, democracy. Sound familiar?”

That was the theme of Horowitz’s speech as he continued: how the communists had taken over the Democratic Party. “The communist party is the Democratic Party,” Horowitz stated. “In The Great Gatsby, [F. Scott] Fitzgerald describes the rich as people who break things and leave them for others to clean up. That is a wonderful description of the left.” Horowitz, who began as a radical Marxist, said that the modern left had learned stealth from their failures in the 1960s: “The left have learned from the 1960s…we in the 1960s didn’t want to pretend to be Jeffersonian democrats…That’s why we failed in the 1960s. That’s why they’ve succeeded now.”

But the right, Horowitz pointed out, has failed to acknowledge that reality. On Obamacare, for example, Horowitz railed against the language used by the left: “single-payer.” Instead, he said, “it is communism,” pointing out that it was state ownership of the means of production. He added, “The left hate the Constitution because Madison designed it to thwart them.”

Horowitz then analyzed what he claimed were the four features of the leftist mentality. First, he said, the left and right are on opposite sides of the “fundamental divide of the modern age”: the left believes that human beings are inherently good and infinitely malleable, and so can be shaped by proper state guidance. Conservatives, by contrast, believe that human beings are responsible for social problems, and concentrating power in the hands of humans is dangerous.

Second, Horowitz said, the left are characterized by the belief that “history is a forward march.” Obama, Horowitz claimed, is a deep believer in this concept, all the way down to his carpet in the Oval Office, which assures those who enter that the moral arc of the universe bends toward justice. “Leftism is a crypto-religion,” he explained. “They see themselves as a savior. People who believe that redemption will take place in this life and I will be a part of it, that’s Hitler. That’s Mao…That’s the American left.”

Third, Horowitz said that the left was characterized by “alienation from this country… What weakens America is actually good.” Horowitz cited the Obama administration’s eager withdrawal from Iraq as evidence of that proposition: “Obama betrayed every American who gave their life for the people of Iraq.” He also slammed the Obama administration with regard to Benghazi: “Benghazi is the most shameful act in the history of the American presidency.”

Finally, said Horowitz, the American left “lie. And it’s not like politicians spinning…you cannot be a leftist without lying about the most basic strategic facts about who you are.”

Horowitz summed up pessimistically: “We are within reach of a totalitarian state in this country…These are very very dark days for this country.” But, Horowitz held out hope: “there’s been an earthquake on the conservative side since I switched sides…the tea party is the earthquake. The best thing that Republicans can do is stop the fratricide.”

Obama's team 'socialists with communist backgrounds'
Prof with ties to radical White House associates says president understands socialism

Manning Marable

NEW YORK – Many of the people working with President Obama are Marxists or socialists with backgrounds in the Communist Party, according to a socialist Columbia University professor with strong ties to Obama’s radical associates, including Weathermen terrorist Bill Ayers.

“What makes Obama different is that he has also been a community organizer. He has read left literature, including my works, and he understands what socialism is,” wrote Manning Marable, professor and founding director of the Institute for Research in African American Studies at Columbia University.

“A lot of the people working with him are, indeed, socialists with backgrounds in the Communist Party or as independent Marxists,” Marable wrote in a December 2008 piece published in the Socialist Review.

In the article, Marable contends “Obama is not a Marxist or a socialist – he is a progressive liberal.”

(JERUSALEM – Evidence has emerged that Sen. Barack Obama belonged to a socialist political party that sought to elect members to public office with the aim of moving the Democratic Party far leftward to ultimately form a new political party with a socialist agenda. http://www.wnd.com/2008/10/78945/ )

“Obama represents a generation of what might be called post-racial black politicians – by which I mean they espouse a politics that minimizes matters of race. They do not like to talk about race and subsume it under the rubric of poverty and class.”

Speaking to WND today, Marable refused to identify the individuals working with Obama he wrote were socialists with Communist Party backgrounds.

He said, however, those individuals strongly believe Obama would change the “tenor of politics within the Democratic party.”

“I think the point I was making is that there are a number of people with left histories who were early participants in Obama’s mobilization. They have a strong belief in Obama as a candidate with the possibility of changing the tenor of politics within the Democratic Party,” he told WND.

Nine months after Marable’s remarks on communists working with Obama, the president’s controversial environmental adviser, Van Jones, resigned amid reports Jones was an admitted black nationalist and radical communist.

Marable has been teaching at Columbia since 1993, 10 years after Obama graduated from the college.

Marable was not commenting as an outside observer. The Columbia professor is intimately connected to many of Obama’s radical associates and even was a founding member of the Socialist New Party. WND previously reported newspaper evidence showing Obama was a member of the party.

The New Party sought to elect members to public office with the aim of moving the Democratic Party far leftward to ultimately form a new political party with a socialist agenda – a history that might grant substance to Marable’s comments to WND today about hopes Obama will change the “tenor” of the Democratic party.

WND last month interviewed a founder of the New Party, Marxist activist Carl Davidson, who recalled Obama’s participation with his group.

In 2007, Marable was elected chair of Movement for a Democratic Society, or MDS, an arm of the radical Students for a Democratic Society from which the Weatherman terrorist organization later splintered.

Some Weathermen terrorists, including Ayers, participate in Marable’s MDS. In November 2007, for example, WND found that Ayers participated in an MDS panel entitled, “Resisting endless war.”

The New Zeal blog, meanwhile, found that Marable held leadership roles in the Communist Party offshoot, Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism.

Also, Marable in 1998 helped found the Black Radical Congress, where he worked with controversial race scholar Cornel West, an Obama friend who introduced the politician at his first campaign stop in Harlem. WND disclosed that during that 2007 introduction, West first railed on stage against the “racist” U.S. criminal justice system of the “American empire.”

West, currently a professor at Princeton University, served as an adviser on Louis Farrakhan’s Million Man March and is a personal friend of the Nation of Islam leader. West authored two books on race with Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr, who was at the center of a recent controversy in which Obama remarked on Gates’ being handcuffed by police outside his home after a report of a burglary.

Marable, in the mean time, has been a regular speaker at an annual socialist conference, the Socialist Scholars Conference, which is usually held at Cooper Union in New York. It has been reported that in the early 1980s, Obama attended socialist conferences at Cooper Union and African cultural fairs in Brooklyn.
