Muslim Public Affairs Council: Condemned The Islamic State And Called For “Stand Against Extremism.”
On August 20, the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) released a statement condemning “the barbaric execution of American Journalist James Foley by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).” MPAC urged “all people of conscience to take a stand against extremism” and offered condolences to Foley’s family. MPAC also noted the importance of countering ISIS and other extremist groups by working “to empower the mainstream and relegate extremists to the irrelevance they deserve.”

It's about time... I guess you would bring this up because you are offering an olive branch. It's about 15 years since two buildings were destroyed and there was 15 years of silence.
I would have to say if any one else wrote this... They were unstable.
Now the little jerks are coming out of their holes... YEAH RIGHT!

I truly hate to bring the obvious to this particular, but since when is "urging" all people of conscience related to the actions of all people of conscience "doing"?
To do is one thing, to urge to do quite another. So in effect he didn't accomplish anything and there is no guarantee they will do what he urged. Typical garrulous politician just like in the good old USA. "empower the mainstream and relegate extremists to the irrelevance they deserve" <.--- What a bunch of gobbledygook. I understand. Ignore them and they will go away. YUPPER The war is over I can just see it now. Lets give them all those bombs that they want because now they're our friends. I really feel good about this. I really do.
Just what is "taking a stand" against a terrorists? Just how is that done? By tying a colored ribbon around the old olive tree? By wearing a pink arm band? Do all people of conscience have some kind of dialog with the terrorists and know who they are? Now that would be pretty bad wouldn't it? Maybe they have "all people of conscience / Muslim jihadist" pot luck dinners every Wednesday... that might work. Go figure...
For one spokesman to commit a group who have had no say in his urging appears to be as valid as are the promises of obama. We all know that those are broken most likely before he even reaches the podium or at the least while he is still mispronouncing the words of the promise.

IN MY OPINION, they just want to play the game "KILL'EM ALL" and let God sort it out. Actions speak louder than any words.
Excellent Badstrat.

you chumps STATE FOR FACT that no muslims speak out against the violence. and you asked where is the outcry among moderate muslims.
i gave you several examples... but that doesn't play to your narrative of all muslims being evil. so instead you want to play semantics and dance around it w "urging is not the same as doing"? and you asking what it accomplished?
honestly i don't know what it accomplished. but i do know it shoots your BS theory about no "muslims speaking out against violence" all to $hit.

Interesting Post Planet Guy. The modern world seems to have become overpopulated with "chumps". The poor ignorant ones, the middle class ones and the "upper class" ones as well as the level just BELOW the Capstone of the Pyramid.
Most are not Evil, they just do not know what they do.....this means the are either stupid, ignorant or both.
Most are not Evil, they just did not realise their actions .....proactive stupidity and ignorance.
Most are not Evil, they just did not know ... uninformed and unthinking stupidity and ignorance.
Most are not Evil, they just want to do what is "best" ...not Right but profitable ... greedy stupidity and ignorance.
Most are not Evil, they just do not care ... EVIL period.
