How about this one Mike... 500 grain XTP bullet, hand loaded with 34.5 grains of R ENFORCER powder velocity exceeding 1400 fps. Thats S&W 500 on an X frame. You better man up before you pull that hammer. You better not be counting on a brick wall to protect you. Still legal in NY for another day or two.

223... Even a girly girl can shoot that. SMILE.

The ATF announced they will drop the proposed ban for now, and Democrats immediately proposed more ammo ban bills.

A week after the Obama administration backed away from a controversial proposal to ban certain types of AR-15 ammo, several Democratic lawmakers have responded with several bills to ban or limit the use of so-called armor-piercing bullets.

"Armor-piercing rounds like green tips should only be in the hands of military personnel or police officers, period. There is absolutely no compelling argument to be made for anyone else to have access to them," Democratic Rep. Eliot Engel said in a statement issued two days after the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) withdrew its own proposed ban.

After receiving more than 80,000 comments from the public concerning its proposed ban of the 5.56 M855 "light green tip" bullet, which is widely popular among sportsmen and AR-15 rifle shooters, the ATF issued a statement backing away from the proposal

Try to get them to fix the roads though...

Good one Billy. Obviously we have a traitor to the constitution in Rep Eliot Engel. He has NO knowledge about firearms, ammunition, or even history. His skills are limited to rhetoric that will protect his job.

However as a traitor to the fundamental values of America he should be immediately removed from office and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!

The question becomes, is this not conspiracy to overthrow the very governmental value of law?

All thinking men realize that law must be flexible to ultimately protect the weak. But it must not come from the edict of a few, that use the law to create anarchy, at the will of the few with political power.

This Rep is disgusting!!!!

It has already been stated that this is an attempt to set a precedent. If they can manage to ban just one type of ammo, for any reason they can think of, they have an excuse to ban more. That was the intent of the Brady Bill in its original form. I read up on that while it was being debated, in its original form, the Brady Bill would have banned everything but shotguns, and to get ammunition for those you would have to have a license and go through 9 miles of red tape. The final version that barely made it did nothing more than ban assault rifles for I think a 10 year period.

I'm sure Obama is not a happy camper right now, his pet ammo ban didn't make it, Netanyahu (SP?) won, Congress had the audacity to pass that pesky pipeline bill that he vetoed before the ink was dry...I bet his nasty little dog peed on the carpet too. Should have peed on his socks...

Glen

We haven't lived under the rule of law since WW2. Maybe even farther back. It's just that guys like you and me are old enough to remember how much better it used to be even though they'd already started perverting the Republic.

Everybody (with possible exception of Soviets) still loved us. "Made in USA" was solid gold. How it went down so fast is astounding. And depressing.
