Another event that has been happening for a few years is the Playing for Change Organization which features musicians from around the world to rise above war and segregation.

While I welcome all attempts to address these issues, the thing that is always lacking in them seems to be an admission of wrongdoing by the guilty, nor any attempt at releasing people through the power of forgiveness and mercy. This can't be artificial or staged for the cameras.

As I white person, I can't remove guilt for what someone else did in the history of the slavery issue, but I can make sure that the hurtful things of the past aren't swept under a rug of indifference. Without an admission that these these were absolutely wrong and can never happen again, reconciliation isn't sincere or effective. Statements on an "official" level can not replace personal testimonies that help people understand the human dimensions of fear, pain, and shame.


Today we had a meeting on a national level in the Polish Hall of Culture with Officials of the Polish government, and national christian and jewish leaders, with the Ambassadors of Israel, Germany, and Poland. Leading off was Lia Shemtov of the Israeli Knesset. She has been traveling with us (and a camera crew from Channel 10 News Israel) since she got here.

What started out as a political meeting became very personal as Peter Loth told his story to these politicians. Just saw the report on Polish TV and they gave us 15 minutes of prime time.

I have noticed that the secular world is more interested in this concept of reconciliation than the religious world, which is a shame. Here is a partial list of national media who have been carrying our message to their own nations.

In world history, nearly every race of people have been enslaved or nearly genocided at one point in time. The most recent examples are obviously the jews by nazis, blacks in africa (by other blacks), armenians (attempted extermination), and I'm sure many others in south america and other places.
Some are currently still struggling with this.

It's something all of our ancestors experienced at some point in time.

The point is that it's not happening here in the US today. Nor is it happening in Israel. Yeah, I know.. one can argue that there are underground sex slaves and things like that in the US, but it's far removed and prosecuted when found. It's a crime, and hardly tolerated on any level.

So why do some races get to play these cards when their only claim is more recent atrocities vs less recent ones for others? Add to that that so many of us are mixed breeds that it becomes impossible to tell whose ancestors did what to who elses? I'm personally a mix of:

Polish, Hungarian, Austrian, Irish, German, English, Italian, Romanian, Norwegian, and possibly scottish. With all that mixed in, it's entirely probable that there's three times as many other nationalities mixed in and forgotten over the generations. Point is that my genes probably fall more on the receiving side of atrocity than the giving, but either way.. what right do I have to claim either??

Yes, there was slavery in Africa by other blacks and by the Indians by other Indians BUT:

-- These were prisoners of wars with other tribes.

-- Slavery was very prominent in the Muslim world.

And to that, both of these following rules and in cases of prisoners of war from other tribes and in the Muslim world:

You could eventually work your way into the tribe or family through marriage or being adopted as a son or daughter, or through some other merit.

In the case with black slavery - BLACK PEOPLE WERE LOOKED UPON AS LESS THAN HUMAN BEINGS WITH THE IQ LESS THAN A CHILD OR ANIMAL.

Then even after slavery ended no one wanted black people living around them. Many of the Northerners, for all their being against slavery - they wanted them to go back to Africa - They didn't want them freed to go and have the same rights as they did.

Still today, people look upon black people as less than human beings who are violent, they are unable to learn or possess the same rate of intelligence as a white person.

Yes, you can give a person back their rights and tell them to run along now, but when the opportunities are withheld from you or you're granted them due to some quote and not through earnings, it is like a cancer that eats away at your soul. And the entire race feels it. I feel and I can't stop feeling it.

You're still a white guy for all your English, Scottish and Polish blood, no one will look down on you. You won't be denied seats at restaurants or denied apartments, or people think you must be up to no good if they see you wandering around their neighborhood.

Do you know why I self-published my book? Because I wouldn't get published when my lead characters are non-whites. There was a huge blow up on one of my author boards about why so many black authors can't get published or their books read because white women have spoken loud and clear that they can't relate to a black woman or have flat out written that they were upset to find out an author was black or that the lead character was black. Yet, minorities read books with white lead characters all the time. We don't have a problem relating to them. If I state I write a book, people automatically assume I must be writing about the ghetto and crime.

I stated quite clearly above that black people haven't made it easy, and in some instances they have played the race card in instances where they were 100% at fault. But at the same time, there are still far too many instances where they weren't at fault.

Black and Hispanic people get far harsher sentences than whites, who often get commuted sentences.

There are still a great number of white women and men who get disowned by their families for hooking up with a minority, and that plenty people consider racial mixing a sin or worse.

Wounds never get healed when people behave as if there's nothing wrong. Anyone knows that through therapy and acknowledgement comes healing.

I have met A LOT of black people that are WAY smarter than me! Some of them educated some not. The point is black folks have made a bad situation (for them) worse. If they try and better themselves through education or a better neighborhood their ENTIRE society calls them "Uncle Tom" and they are chastised! The only way they can be TRULY black is to live in poverty act stupid and stick it to the man! This is the problem then you libs fall for the con and MAKE EXCUSES for them! This country is 16 TRILLION dollars in debt and we are no longer a rich nation because of all the entitlements that we GIVE TO EVERYONE! Their is SOONER than later going to come a time when the money runs out! All those people (black and white) that are getting their free ride won't get it anymore because the country WILL BE BROKE! I do tend to think that LBJ and the "Great Society" was the worst thing that every happened to the black community. In typical liberal fashion, it sounded great on paper but implementation brings an opposite result than promised.

Government assistance only brings dependence on government, a different kind of slavery, but slavery nonetheless.

There are more white people than black people on the dole, but as a percentage, it's higher in the black community and this is really where their families began to disintegrate.

The last I heard it was up around 70% I managed an all Black apartment complex and I lived there! I know there are upper and middle class. There are also some damn good lower class blacks.
