Glen ... Ta for the great Post. My Father had a policy with his children ... we all received our first rifle at age 9 years. It was a 22 Long Rifle with a clip. Whenever we went into the Hills we always took a rifle , a shotgun or a pistol or all three. He taught us all how to shoot and my Brother and I how to Hunt. My little Sister to this day has a concealed carry. My Father's favourite Rifle was a 30 "ought" 6. Bolt action, scope, hand tooled leather on the stock and butt by him. Every holiday was without question a camping-hunting trip into the rockies. We would drive in as far as we could and make a Base Camp or take horses in further and then make Base Camp. My Mother and two Sisters stayed there often with my little Brother. My Father would take me always as I was the eldest and we would range far "hunting", sometimes for a couple days and nights "roughing" it. My Father loved to hunt and would take his time finding, observing and stalking his selected prey. He would always "set-up" his shot in order that the game never knew what hit it, was not running, scared or inundated with adrenaline which flavours the meat badly.

Moose, Elk, Deer, Antelope, Bear and even Big Horn Sheep above the Timberline. Of course where we lived in the WildCat Hills we took deer, antelope, buffalo, pheasant, duck and turkey ... "from the king". Poaching was generally accepted by the few who lived there and I remember actually bringing my new Rifle to school when I was in high School and during lunch hour we went out next to the track and shot it ... even some of the teachers and the janitor. It was very little house on the prairie. The first school I attended used to be an Indian School and was called District 4 Owasko School. It even had a stable for horses and an irrigation ditch running through it.

We butchered all of our own meat, made our own sausage, bacon and so I know how to kill, butcher and dress, preserve and prepare pretty much anything. Once in NewFoundLand I even shot a young Sea Gull and stuffed it for Christmas Dinner for my Band as we were all poor and living in a summer cottage outside St. Johns during the winter.

I have not forgotten about the clips. The girl who works for me in my Studio and office ... Brenda ... will be sending them soon.
