Lincoln was inaugurated on March 4, 1861. South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Texas had already seceded and formed the Confederate States of America on February 4, 1861. That's a month before Lincoln was sworn in! .

Lincoln won the election on Nov 6, 1860 and that's why those States seceded before he took office

The timing is correct, but no one who knows anything about history and politics would believe that states would secede from the Union just because someone who was an unknown quantity at the time was elected President. That's simply unbelievable.

He campaigned for a year to become President. He wasn't an "unknown quantity" and those States had said in advance they would secede if a Republican won the election.

And they did as soon as it happened but before inauguration.

And ANYONE "who knows anything about history and politics" knows that is a fact.

We have a big disagreement Badstrat.
I don't believe God is cruel and punishing.
It is cruel men that are punishing and reprehensible.

I seem to remember God gave us a gift of salvation.
You seem to keep coming back with some nasty interpretations of that.
I fear no other man... We all have God's love.
Death is a minor consequence of living.

Some men inflict their own interpretation of being alive. Some men accept their life situation. Some men are spoiled because they will only accept God's plan. Some men will not accept a plan from other men, such as flying planes into buildings. Some men are willing to accept the challenge of living free.

I hope you get it... FREEDOM OF CHOICE WAS MANS FIRST GREAT GIFT.
I feel like a Sunday school teacher... God didn't want sheep. He wanted mankind to choose, from free will, salvation in his son, Jesus Christ.

You keep going off in grey areas that really don't matter Gary. Stop being so negative. I love you man, I know you are a good guy...Just remember...

Death is just minor consequence of living.

I'm going fishing....

I don't think that is what he said.

Deut 30 lays it out well, I think. We all have the ability to choose blessing or curse. If one reaps the whirlwind, it is because you have sown disaster. If you plant apple seeds you don't get thorn bushes. This is as true as the law of gravity, and it applies to mankind personally and corporately.

His judgement is always for the purpose of restoration, not punishment.

Read the Book of Revelations, Glen. And then perhaps Deu 28:13 - 28:63.

There is a real big problem with Christians. They memorize all the blessing verses on little placards but they do not memorize the curse scriptures. How many have bought little cards with the curse scriptures to memorize, including the scriptures referred to above? Evidently you have not. Yod has kept those verses in mind, as have I. The curse is every bit as important than the blessing for through knowledge of it the blessing is sustained.

Do you think that the curse is not for Gods people but only for those who do not believe in him? No. The curse and blessing were given to those he has called, not for those who do not belong to him. God does not change. If one group of Gods people are punished for their sins so it shall be for the other, for God is a just God.

A just God does not punish one group of his people and then let another get away with their rebellion. Salvation does not mean avoidance of punishment in the physical body.

1Co 11:26 The Lord meant that when you eat this bread and drink from this cup, you tell about his death until he comes. But if you eat the bread and drink the wine in a way that isn't worthy of the Lord, you sin against his body and blood. That's why you must examine the way you eat and drink. If you fail to understand that you are the body of the Lord, you will condemn yourselves by the way you eat and drink. That's why many of you are sick and weak and why a lot of others have died. If we carefully judge ourselves, we won't be punished.

God has put to death even those of his who take communion improperly. This is speaking to those called by his name, Glen. But if you can't see what is going on around you then I guess you can't see it

Perhaps you can form a prayer group and pray in the park. Or perhaps you can pray on the field before a sports event, or in a library, or in a school, or before a judge in a court room. Those freedoms have been taken from me, I am glad to know that you still have them.

The thought police have taken away even the things I have not yet spoken through intimidation and through threats of punishment. But you on the other hand are truly are blessed.

There are many " Let's Tiptoe Thorough the Tulips Christians" tripping gaily through the flower beds of life. They know not what awaits them, and neither do they wish to know these things.

" God hears all prayers, even those not spoken aloud but simply uttered in one's heart. Therefore, there is no place on earth where you cannot pray to God. However, there is a kind of prayer that sometimes isn't possible. Jesus describes in Matthew 5."

Thanks, george, for elaborating in depth on the obvious which is irrelevant concerning what I posted. It should be clear to most that I was speaking of praying out loud in a public parks or any place where it has now been forbidden by law. You know, those places where events were almost always opened with prayer in the past before prayer became a target for the ungodly. Those places where our religious freedom given to us by God has been compromised or rather TAKEN AWAY. I'm speaking of the loss of religious liberty.

Do you suffer from Postarrhea George? If so perhaps you could go into your prayer closet and ask God to deliver you from that.
