The Zionist "movement" created the Israeli State. Zionism desires to change the nature of the Jewish People from that of a purely religious entity to a political movement.
Only about 12% of Jewish people are religious...tops. So, yea, there is a mostly-secular component to Zionism since most Jews want nothing to do with a "religious entity". However that doesn't mean that Zionism is some nefarious conspiracy to rule the world. It is simply the desire, and belief, that Jewish people have a homeland where they can defend themselves from the rest of the world who is out to kill them.
Jewish Spiritual Leaders have been opposed and stood against Zionism from its very creation which was not all that long ago. Zionists want the world to believe they are the Jewish People and that they represent them. This is a Lie.
I really don't know where you get your info, but your sources are confused.
MOST of the founders of Zionism were religious Jews, and spiritual leaders. There are one or two rogue religious groups who oppose Jews living in Israel....tops.
In accordance with Jewish Faith and the TORAH, the Jewish People are forbidden to have their own state whilst awaiting the Messiah. At the arrival of the Messiah, the CREATOR alone, without any human assistance, will take the Jewish People out of their Exile and bring them together. This is to be a Divine and not a "human" process.
This is what Finklestein teaches, yes, but it's an extremely minority view and, imo, a terrible interpretation.
The Zionist State is not a Jewish State. Zionism is in fact a form of "Government".
Please don't assume I'm saying this with any anger or criticism of you personally....but that's just whack.
Collectivism works well enough in the way you use it I feel. But it is both the Democratic and Republican Parties, not just one.
One is grossly worse than the other, but your point is conceded as correct.
Regarding Texas and Mexico …and being better able to defend yourself … well I beg to differ.
I have lots of family here. If the time comes, we will be a large well-defended gang in a city where we have good relations with neighbors and shared food.
I think the only safe place will be a hidden farm within walking distance of clean water in the middle of nowhere, distantly surrounded by people who share your values and are willing to work together to survive.
Yod … we disagree on some things but we do agree on others. We have verbally sparred in the past and it is best I think that "we agree" that we "disagree"on some issues.
I think we've disagreed on a couple of things, but you should know that I've never been angry over that because I am secure in what I know to be true, and not threatened by disagreement.
Only time will tell.
