Yod ...I am enjoying our discourse and reflections. I think most tend to agree in a "greater source" in the sense that most seem to be able to be divided into one or the other of two distinct camps....that is belief that after physical death there is something which continues or that we are but worms crawling about and when our physical existence happens to end we are no more and there is nothing. Of course discussions of this nature have been going on since mankind started throwing rocks at one another. But it is important to understand I believe that you can always find someone to disagree with but of more pertinence is the matter of what is actually going on around you and everyone else at the moment. Someone told me once that debating philosophy is like debating religion ??? Of course the very same person told me that "people like you tend to generalize too much" Even they had to laugh after they said it. Life like music should be enjoyable and a celebration at times not a fearful darting to and fro from one rock to the other. I take no issue with the world of Yod or that of Etu theyboth have things to offer and much food for thought. Ta

That is correct ETU... And no doubt , in the eyes of many I am a mad man...A lunatic, to even dare proclaim such things... But I see what I see, I hear what I hear, I feel what I feel, I am what I am... Neither you, or the rest of this universe of sentient beings are required to understand me, or my beliefs and convictions. In fact, there is no requirement to acknowledge, assert opinion or cast any wisdom at me or other mad-persons... I would only caution, it is never healthy to 'judge' those, whom you don't comprehend.

Well . . . this side of you I actually like then (besides your musical self . . . I like that best)

I respect everyone's paradigm, just hate proselytizing

Now why would you say that, Etu?

It sounds like you challenged God to a duel? (OK...to be specific Yeshua ben Yosef HaNatzret - Jesus, son of Joseph of Nazareth)

So tell ya what...I'm going to pray that God blesses you so much in the next week that you almost feel a kiss on your face. May you know that HE wanted to bless you. I also pray that the pretenders to your soul would abandon you and flee.

Whether you like them or not.

Yes, the hope of nothing is the atheist view I used to hold.

My journey began by researching all the filth in the european institution that has called itself the "church" since the 4th century. I doubt I'd have to tell you how disgusting the past and present are, but I can probably tell you the wicked history of the "church" better than anyone you know.

That seemed like enough to prove that god was a fantasy that they made up to manipulate people (and it IS in far too many places) but underneath all the BS is something called faith, which we're all born with. We yearn to know the spiritual world because something inside tells us that it is ultimate reality and this life is passing into that one.

Faith in it's original sense only means "strong trust". I have actually given God an honest try, but only through the grace He gave me to do it. I have no regrets after 22 years and it wasn't easy.

So....how about you? Like they say...."Who ya gonna call?"

The flying spagetti monster?

Code: Select all
of more pertinence is the matter of what is actually going on around you and everyone else at the moment.

Could not agree more. If we're only playing church then we fool ourselves.

Reality is outside.

Actually I've been told that faith is a gift, given to us by God. Thus, Not all people possess the gift of faith...(They would need to ask for it, whereby it would have already been granted before the could utter the words)

You can tell them apart because they really struggle to envision, grasp and embrace the idea that there is an entity much larger than themselves, pulling the strings of purpose and design. Of course no human being is so sophisticated and intelligent as to come up with a formula that fully and completely expresses life and love. However, Those individuals without faith, actually believe themselves to be the authors of destiny (which is different than fate) , forgetting how fragile, meaningless and fruitless their investment in the immediate temporal universe really is.
Call me crazy...But It is my faith that allows me to see things I might otherwise overlook.
