I'm trying...I really am....but I'm now 7 minutes in and hearing the same repeated baloney with no substance. He has mastered the Ross Perot method. Talk about what's wrong but don't offer any realistic solutions. To keep you from noticing, he goes into his litany of destroying others with naked lies.

You are following slogans that have no basis in historical reality. Choosing someone for a slogan of "Make America Great" (when they have been part of the problem) is not much different than voting for someone who promises "Hope & Change" before you know what they mean by that. Someone better "show me the money" and tell me "where is the beef?"

I'm not as naive as most Trumpies. I know that his mischaracterization of Cruz vis-a-vis Carson in Iowa is only political propaganda that depends on a "lo-info" public. They also bring up the names of anyone around him and try to create a linkage that doesn't necessarily exist. Do you want to know the truth about what happened with that, or are you satisfied with a false narrative that paints any Trump opposition badly? Because the truth is not hidden, yet I can't find any Trumpies that know it.

I am under no delusion that Cruz is a perfect candidate. You are under delusion if you think Trump is. I am judging all candidates by their actions; unwilling to accept their words at face value. Trump is not much different than Hillary if you do that....but according to his words he is the reincarnation of George Washington. Heck, yea, who wouldn't vote for George Washington?!!

I'm ready to roll the dice with Trump vs Hillary if that's what it comes to. It would be great if he even keeps ½ of his word, if he were to get elected.

I'm just not convinced that he has reversed the course of ACTION he has supported in the last 2 decades, so I will do my best to see that we have a better candidate in the meantime.

And you knew damn well he was a snake before you took him in....

Ted, your logic makes perfect sense. Kudos and on MUCH we would agree.

As a nation, we have gone beyond perfect sense and logic.

Which proves the point I've been making all along about Trump's appeal.

Trumpies are generally people seeking revenge and blood. They want it so much that they are easily manipulated by their anger into seeing a Donald Trump that is hero. He's a different person than the one we've seen for lo, these past four decades, who supported Hillary & Bill, who funded the "Gang of Eight" immigration legislation that he now claims to be a champion against. He has been a liberal Democrat for his entire life, closely tied to the Mafia and Unions, who has weaseled his way into the GOP Primary and has suddenly transformed into Super Gladiator, speaker of lies against all conservative candidates and hero of the violent, the arrogant, and the anarchist!

Just a bully from the other side of the tracks to fight the bullies we currently have. Other than that, he isn't really a viable candidate for running a nation of laws.

Ted, I still have to disagree. You make some valid points, and I'm not a huge fan of some of what I see.

But I still think for some reason I can't really explain, Trump will do what he says, and really does want to change things for the better and for the benefit of the people, not the rich same as all the politicians have done for 50 years or more. I've noticed he's being very stingy with the details, but I think there's a reason for that. Why reveal your battle plans to the enemy in advance? That's exactly what Obama did when he finally decided to go after ISIS in Syria and Iraq, or at least make a show of it...they immediately started hiding among the civilian population, same as Hamas did while they lobbed missiles at Israel. That way they can use any civilian casualties as propaganda. Then he didn't do a lot to try and actually stop them, it was all for show. 125 airstrikes in 3 months? Give me a break. We were running at least 200 a day when we went into Iraq to take out Saddam Hussein. Which I think we should not have done. Yes he was amonster and needed to be stopped, but removing him and Gaddaffi (SP?) left gaping holes in leadership in the middle east, and those two were helping keep terrorists at bay, in their own evil way.

So Trump is not revealing his battle plans. I can understand that. IN the meetings he's had so far, the people involved are saying they saw a completely different person, which I predicted long ago, he listened quite well and asked a lot of "sharp questions" according to one of them. Exactly what I would expect of a business executive who has put together the people to build the kind of business he has. Surely you don't think he built 40 to 60 story hotels all over the world without having a group of highly competent people around him? I would think if you were to be able to walk into one of his meetings on one of those buildings, you'd see a "dream team" of some of the most intelligent and competent people in the business. As president he will do the exact same thing, put together the best he can find to get things done.

As far as politics, it's pretty simple. The traditional politicians see their gravy train growing wings and flying away. DC has been infested with corruption for many years, they've set up a nice little cash cow they know they can depend on, as long as nobody rocks the boat. Ted Cruz rocked the boat. Donald Trump flipped it over and threw away the paddles. They're SCARED..scared to death of Trump.

Right now, I have no idea what a simple claw hammer costs, if it's for the White House. IN the mid 70's, I think it was the show 60 minutes that did a segment on t hat, a regular, everyday hammer I could grab at any hardware store for $12 was $200 for the White House. How long do you think that will last with someone who has budgeted supplies for huge construction projects for 40 years? How many construction projects have those same politicians EVER finished on time and under budget? How many have met payroll month after month for years on end for at least 1500 employees, and out of their own pockets? I doubt most have ever even had employees at all...or not more than 3 or 4, most have been lawyers if anything, if not career politicians.

I think what we're seeing is all an act, and unless I'm badly mistaken, Trump has had a distinct plan since before he ever announced he was running. He's not the type of person to do anything without a detailed plan, probably written out in some secret corner of Trump Tower only he has access to. I'd almost bet on that one. I can't see Trump doing anything more critical than going to the bathroom without a plan, most likely written out in detail. You just don't build the kind of buildings he's been doing for many years by doing things "on the fly". I'll never believe that.

I think we'll start seeing someone very different, very soon. Right now he still has 2 opponents to dispatch, and he hasn't even started in on Hillary. Lately we have been seeing a few tidbits of some details, I guess he had to give in a let out a little...but I think he's right to not reveal any specifics. Sure, the people want to know, but if he lays out a specific plan to get Mexico to pay for the wall, Mexico has over a year to get ready for it. If he lays out specifics on how to get jobs back, the cheap labor express has over a year to figure out a counterattack.

I don't like it a lot, but I'll wait, I already know he has a knack for getting things done, on time and under budget. Our government has never done either. A lot of people don't realize just how much he has dealt with politicians, and almost always got his way. I'd like to have been a fly on the wall at one of his recent meetings with security experts and such. The reality show star was not in attendance, I can guarantee you that.

I'm not sure how to explain it, I knew while I watched his announcement speech, he means every word he says. He fully intends to make this country the greatest country in the world again, as it once was. He fully intends to bring jobs back, lower taxes, stop illegal immigration and on and on...I watched his face, only half listening to the words, I saw the knuckles turning white while he held onto the podium making certain comments, he really meant what he said and felt very deeply about it.

I never dreamed it would be Donald Trump, but he is exactly what I've wanted to see hit the White House for at least 30 years. Not a politician, too rich to be bought, brass balls the size of grapefruit, doesn't give a whit about politically correct, and wants to actually listen to what the people of this country want, not the special interest groups. And that's why the Democrats, Republicans and the press all hate Trump. Which is the greatest endorsement I can think of. He's about to stop their gravy train and they know it. My mind was made up as soon as I saw the look on his face in that first unscripted speech. I was already hoping he would run, just from listening to telephone interviews. Not that I like Trump., I don't really like the person...the egotistical personality, bragging all the time, rambling speech, dodging questions...nope, don't like it much at all, but I can see, for some reason, he means to right what is wrong. And that is what I've wanted to see for a very long time. Politicians got us where we are, politicians will not get us out of it.

Someone with guts, drive and determination has to step up to the plate, from outside the political class, and take the reins. I never suspected it would be Trump, but I'll take it.

He ridiculed a war hero. He made mockery of a reporter’s menstrual cycle. He made fun of a disabled reporter. He referred to the former first lady, Barbara Bush as ‘mommy,’ and belittled Jeb Bush for bringing her on the campaign trail, He routinely calls people ‘stupid,’ ‘loser,’ and ‘dummy.

I'm not talking about a 5-year old brat. I'm talking about someone who wants his finger on the nuke button, and will have to deal with the leaders of nuke-capable nations on our behalf. We will be in a war with China within a month, not to mention Mexico and Russia.

That's your political savior?

Your imagination has gotten the best of you. His previous history shows that he is not the hero you seem to be convinced he is.

It's too late for a savior Ted. But not too late to kick some of these creeps in the face and knock the table over.

Do you think these faux candidates' policies mean a damn thing? Who is most conservative? ha!

Trump is no white knight but they hate him and I hate them so it all balances out nicely! 8)

Yes I'm aware of many of Trump's negatives, and have already said I'm not a fan of some of his comments and antics. I'm also pretty convinced the flip side of Donald is a different critter altogether.

War hero? Maybe...but since coming home, McCain has done all he can to help cover up serious and well grounded allegations that hundreds of American POW's were still left behind and basically forgotten by our government.

http://www.vvof.org/mccain_hides.htm

http://www.theamericanconservative.com/ ... -cover-up/

Both written apparently by the same journalist, but not exact duplicates. I've read a dozen other articles a while back that confirmed the same comments made here. Evidence is solid that many were left behind, and McCain, with his cohort John Kerry, has done all he can to accomplish a cover up.

His record includes the loss of 5 planes, graduated 5th from bottom in his class at the academy (894 out of 899), broke his arms by ejecting improperly, not by torture as he has claimed, spent his time at the academy boozing and chasing women, and according to fellow POW's was given special treatment while a POW because of his Admiral father. Some also say he was never tortured at all. His nickname was songbird, because he told the VC everything they wanted to know and made 32 videos denouncing the US. He was shot down because he was flying below the minimum altitude at which he had been ordered to fly. One of the planes he lost is thought to have been because he intentionally did a "wet start" to harass a pilot behind him, and that caused a fire and a missile to be launched resulting in a much bigger fire and 167 casualties. All for being a jerk. I had a friend who was on the Forrestal and helped put out that fire. He never told me how it started...

I don't like some of Trump's comments, but he was right to denounce McCain. I read a dozen more articles a while back, there is plenty to indicate he was not the tortured prisoner he claims to be, but received special treatment because of his Admiral father...fellow POW's have said he was always well fed and dressed, clean and shaved, even got "vacations" with prostitutes included. Since coming back he has done all he can to make sure all documentation concerning POW status has been classified and will stay that way.

Megyn Kelly - No use for her any more, his comments may have been objectionable, I'll agree there, but she obviously hit the stage with her claws out, trying to derail Trump. That is not the job of a reporter and debate moderator. She was very much out of line. I didn't like Trump's comment, I think he could have handled it better.

Don't know much about the disabled reporter issue, but thought that was a bad move too, could have been handled much better.

Jeb Bush brought in mommy because his campaign was going under for the third time. I never had anything against her before, but I lost much respect for her when she didn't stick to her guns. Before he announced he was running, she publicly stated we didn't need another Bush in the White House, then changed her tune and made public appearances supporting his run. Pretty much a typical politician flip flop. He should never have brought her into it. She should have stuck to her original stance. Jeb finally went home, he can stay there.

I see your point, I don't like many of Trump's more outrageous comments either, I never did like the egotistical personality, but I see something we've needed for a long time. Someone who is turning down the big money from the typical donors and has the backbone to stand up against the political establishment that has almost destroyed this country. I do wish he would tone it down, but I also think there's method to his madness. One thing is for sure, we don't need any of the other politicians in office, that's how we got where we are right now. Not one person running will do a thing different, now that Cruz has given in to the establishment, and his campaign has morphed from "elect me" to "stop Trump". I'll vote for Ted if I have to, but I would very much prefer the one person in the race who cannot be bought and has the backbone to do what he says, and the reputation for doing exactly that. And I can't wait to see him seriously put Hillary in the crosshairs...

And by the way, I hope you have noted that I have NOT resorted to the usual name calling and juvenile insults that usually develop in most disagreements on here. You have done the same and I thank you for that. I'm really glad to be able to disagree and simply discuss it without all that crap. Thanks.

Yes, I have noticed that the Trumpies here are better behaved than the ones you'd see at Breitbart, Drudge, and infowars, but all of you guys seem to think that Trump is going to fight the people he has supported for the last 40 years.....with no reason or evidence to think that except he talks like it recently.

You seem to think he is angry just like you at the same things with the same solution. I highly doubt it but praying that he has sincerely seen the errors of his ways (though he hasn't admitted them) and he isn't lying this time.

Cruz is smarmy and hard to like personally. Has the charisma of a mortician half-bred with a sleazy televangelist. But even at that he's the most decent person in the race with a realistic plan/vision for America that he can articulate.

So sad that America can't do better.
