well, it's a dangerous and slippery slope! after a puff or two...and glenny pulls the gtr out from the closet, unfurls himself from the flag, wipes off the inches of dust, plays a bit...the next thing ya know he's likely to contribute something here of substance besides the usual insults, flag waving, and rants about FREEDOM!

yep, a slippery slope indeed!

That explains much.

Twenty-three states and the District of Columbia currently have laws legalizing marijuana in some form.

Four states and the District of Columbia have legalized marijuana for recreational use. In Alaska, adults 21 and older can now transport, buy or possess up to an ounce of marijuana and six plants. Oregon voters approved a similar measure allowing adults to posses up to an ounce of marijuana in public and 8 ounces in their homes, set to take effect July 1. Colorado and Washington previously passed similar ballot measures legalizing marijuana in 2012.

glen, why do you hate the law so?

Glen

We all commit roughly three felonies a day. It's set up that way.

As to drugs, none of that was illegal before post WWI. Americans used to value freedom and we didn't let nanny state do-gooders tell what we could do.

It's not commonly known nor is it EVER discussed but after the Secession war there were well over one million drug addicts in the US. That be like twenty million today. The difference? If they needed drugs, (and after being hit with .60 calibre bullets believe me, they needed drugs) they trotted on down to the drug store and bought some.

Do you honestly think it makes sense to send armed men in SWAT costumes to arrest free Americans for smoking an herb? Come on man.

Mike, the DOJ went in to confiscate the wood from the Gibson guitar factory... Dressed in SWAT costumes with real guns. The only reason that seems to come up is Gibson supported Romney. It didn't happen to fender... They supported obama.
Now to the ridiculous. I apologize for taking this off topic, and how quickly some of you got sucked into attacks aimed at protecting positions on pot. Jimmy's opening statement was very interesting, especially if you take the time to explore all the ramifications.
That one question by mark only proves serious lack of thought. How he could jump to the conclusion that "I hate the law". I don't know... Maybe it's the water out there.
Mr idiot, are you trying to rewrite history... It was the CIVIL WAR. Should we also start to call the "TRAIL OF TEARS" the trail of hope?
SWELL....

The reason some folks still call Heroin 'Horse' is due to the 'White Horse' brand that was available in drugstores everywhere. So we had the 'spectacle' of one million vets (north and south) who were addicts, usually to the end of their lives, living productively, working and raising families.

There is a theory that many modern veterans are committing suicide because of pain - those dreadful freaks in DC believe they know better than what we know or feel and make them jump through ridiculous hoops to get pain med. The DC hogs just cracked down again on that.

There is a classic scene in Ted Turner's take on Teddy Roosevelt at San Juan Hill where the former Confederate Cavalry general Wheeler meets up with Steven Crane who wrote 'Red Badge of Courage' and was acting as a correspondent.

Crane was looking a little ragged. Wheeler asked Crane if he was OK, "Well General, I'm an alcoholic and a drug addict but otherwise fine." The general, unlike modern nannystaters of the uniparty simply replied, "You have my sympathy sir."

Jimmy starts this thread with the premise that we have no purpose.
I make a comment about pot.
Next it turns into a major pot discussion.

I love you guys... Your insanity is so minor compared to some of the people I have to deal with...
