i'd recommend that conservatives make their own social media sites and truly try to make them worth a damn so people of all ideologies would frequent them. they probably can't and won't, but that's what the goal should be here.

What I've never figured out is why there are no left leaning radio talk shows? Not a one..you have Levin..Rush..the guy from North Beach Calif...and others on the right..must not be marketable to be a communist/socialist in America

The reason I've heard from several conservative hosts is that liberal listeners flat out refuse to support the advertisers on radio shows while conservatives vehemently support their advertisers. Also, conservative shows grow from one affiliate to several and connect not only with the listeners, but the stations as well (especially groups that own more than one). On the other hand, liberals tried to create the Air America network out of thin air with a big check from George Soros. They flipped some stations, mostly independent foreign language ones, but failed to connect with the listeners the way conservative talkers had for two decades previous. Final reason, conservatives turned to talk radio in an era before cable news and the internet as an alternative to the network news and newspapers. Liberals don't need that alternative because so much of the media landscape is dominated by their POV.

I don't really listen to talk radio... I do remember some decades ago stations were being bought up by a conservative group/people to get control over the airwaves... kind of like a lot of the major networks. I guess it still has some what of an audience but... there are plenty of Liberal/Democratic shows on other platforms with large number of subscribers like YT.

I've listened to NPR for years... It's amazing how far left they've traveled. They're basically the Huffington Post of the airwaves now.
And Trump is living rent free day and night in their heads.
But like all of these outlets do they think they're changing minds? Nope...
They just need to keep that White Privilege/guilt narrative flowing...
keeps the donations coming in from the old white wealthy liberals...

the fact that public broadcasting still receives even one dollar from the taxpayers means the R team has a long way to go to fulfilling eons of campaign promises and evening the playing field.

You are exactly right Schmed. And they are still tolerating tax payer dollars going to planned parenthood. Plus I've been waiting since Reagan for them to full fill their promise of junking that damnable Federal Dept of Education.

For the record, Bill Maher (or Bill Mayer as a member here called him) stood up for Alex Jones' freedom of speech on his show Friday. The guy will actually break from his pack on some issues and this was one. And this was after Jones said things about him that he didn't like.

No, they actually tried several times to launch liberal radio networks. They all failed quickly and here's why:

The reason why Conservative radio works is because of the audience. These are ALL call in shows.

Apparently Liberals don't have an audience who wants to be engaged or challenged. It is a statistical fact that average conservatives are much more aware of news and issues daily than the average Lib, who gets their news and and how to feel about it (emotions!) from comedians. Ridicule and name-calling doesn't work as well on a talk show where people can all in, and since they can't defend liberal views with reason or logic anyway, they don't open up the phone lines because conservatives would expose the liberal folly CONSTANTLY if allowed to call in.

....and we can't have that?


They were just regurgitating the same propoganda talking points they are already spewing on the MSM which can be broadcast unchallenged, so why risk their lies being exposed by public scrutiny? Only thinking people listen to talk radio. No thinking person wants to listen to liberal drivel so those networks lose money until they go broke and shut down.

CNN would be out of business if it weren't contracts with foreign networks and airports. And they are only the second worst fake news outlet (after BSNBC)



And I find Bill Mahr to be one of the extremely few on the left who even tries to be fair with truth and logic.

So during the CNN interview with the head of twitter Jack Dorsey... admits they are left leaning platform... but they don't have bias nor do they shadow ban conservatives.
Not that I would expect him to tell the truth on that crap network or any for that matter... but history tells a different story.
I get why the Left is ok with this... it favors your team and like YT and Facebook these are the most powerful platforms to get yourself heard... but is there no integrity on the left anymore? Just play along with it... or ignore it? And keep pushing that Socialist agenda...
