Regarding the 'black keys.' I was in a rehearsal last year where a vocalist asked us to change keys. The guitar players attached their capos and I grinned at them. "You don't have a capo?" Asked the lead guitarist?

"Certainly not." My chest swelling and I felt like quite the purist. "I transpose on the fly. Like pianists do."

They were not impressed. I'd never heard of that piano 'capo' business you mentioned, because that is in effect what it was. Our keyboard player had though. Then I check some web sites and bass players are (gasp) using capos! What a world!

Even guitars, The necks are embedded with white dots or ivory or whatever else in a shaded area of dark colored wood, except in the case of truly racist guitars that have maple necks... All White.

Even saxophones... How can we be certain they are compliant with all the ideals of the LGBT folks. I'm sure even John Coltrane was very concerned about wich bathroom he took his sax into.
