Has anyone else watched or been watching this series? We streamed it on Amazon. It only ran for one season and it's up in the air whether or not it will return. Amazingly enough I think this actually ran on network TV...CBS.

The premise is this: a meteorite comes down and unbeknownst to everyone it contains alien life. Little ant like creatures that we learn are earwigs. They get to DC and start crawling into the heads of politicians using them as hosts!

It's very much a bi-partisan affair as the show takes pot shots at both libs and cons. Once inside the head...the aliens eat 1/3 of the hosts brains.....the hosts are still themselves...just much more extreme in their views and actions!

It's a great explanation for how fukked up things have become and why govt is so dysfunctional.

Maybe the most creative and funniest thing about the show is how they do "and previously on....."

At the beginning of each show as the titles are running they have this guy (off camera...you never see him til the last episode) strumming an acoustic gtr and singing a little ditty about what's previously transpired. Pure genius as this guy is really good and his word play and summations (often delivered at machine gun tempo) are hilarious.

Finally in the last episode...it begins w the guy standing outside this DC brownstone.....doing his usual bit strumming a Martin and singing his summation of what's previously transpired. And it's great finally getting to see the actual guy....but then the camera pans to inside the brownstone and we see some of the regular characters trying to have a conversation...one of them walks over to the window to give the guy a "hey, buddy..WTF?!!!" look w a shrug of the shoulders and the musician slinks off still playing.

Very, very creative stuff. I hope it comes back.
