Cassiopeia is a good spot to look around with a telescope. Right below it is the Double Cluster, two large groups of stars, one of my favorite views when I pull out my telescope.
Then if you follow the direction of the point star in the upper triangle, it points almost straight toward the Andromeda Galaxy.
And of course just looking around in general is fun too but I don't get a view this good, my telescope only has a 6 inch mirror. It does OK but I've seen a couple of 8 inch and 12 inch scopes, now I'm not that impressed with mine any more...sure wish I could stumble into about $1200...no make that $2000, if I got a 12 inch I'd have to get one with computer tracking and a decent imager to go along with it...and that still wouldn't come close to what Hubble can do...
I'm a member of the BOMB SQUAD.
If you see me running, better catch up!
