Governor Signs Law Banning These 2 Common Words Because They’re Anti-Gay

American supporters of traditional marriage were repeatedly assured by proponents of same-sex marriage that they weren’t trying to change anything and were merely seeking equality under the law.
But in the wake of the recent Supreme Court ruling that discovered the right of same-sex marriage in the 14th Amendment, all of that has changed, and the traditional definition of marriage is under a renewed assault.
California Gov. Jerry Brown just signed into law a bill that removes the words “husband” and “wife” from the state’s marriage laws, replacing both with the word “spouse.”
This is meant to be an all-inclusive term that will accommodate both traditional and same-sex couples.
The bill, SB1306, will take effect Jan. 1 and also removed any limits to recognizing same-sex marriages performed in other states.
The now “anti-gay” terms “husband” and “wife” were added to the state’s marriage laws in 2000 with the passage of Proposition 22.
Prop 22 was ultimately struck down in 2008 by the state’s activist Supreme Court, leading Californians to overwhelmingly approve a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.
Unfortunately for supporters of traditional marriage, that ban was struck down as well, as are all state bans now, thanks to the twisted logic and imaginative reading of the Constitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court.
“I am pleased Gov. Brown has recognized the importance of this bill, which makes it explicitly clear in state law that every loving couple has the right to marry in California,” said state Sen. Mark Leno, who authored the bill making the terminology change, according to Fox News.
“This legislation removes outdated and biased language from state codes and recognizes all married spouses equally, regardless of their gender,” he added.
Progressives are enamored with “progress” for its own sake and have no qualms about destroying the traditions and culture preferred, respected and cherished by well more than half of the country, if they don’t fit in with the progressive agenda.
