I have WAV demo files and want to upload them, so I downloaded Audacity, but now it says I need the LAME encoder thingy and so I downloaded LAME but the format's all weird and basically I'm confused and frustrated and just want my audio file to work.

Open the WAV file in Audacity, then select "Export" from the File menu. Save it somewhere and it's gonna be in mp3 format. I don't guarantee that the quality will be the same though.

I clicked on Export as MP3 multiple times and each time it asks me to locate the lame_enc.dll file and I downloaded LAME, but, I can't seem to find the file.

Never mind, I Googled lame_enc.dll and downloaded the file that I needed and now it appears to be working. So I guess if anyone has similar troubles, don't even bother with downloading LAME, just get the .dll file.

I see by the audio you got it to work. By the way welcome to the fray.
I tried to take a listen but the volume is really low. And my old lady is blastin Elton John in the back ground. If you are using Audacity you can boost your mic gain or go to effects and make the whole file louder.

Was her sample really quiet to you others?

Yeah, I knew it'd be quiet, but it was the only file I could put up right away. I'll see if I can make it louder via Audacity like you suggested. I'm not sure why, but my only way of recording makes it really really quiet. I'd recommend turning up the volume ALL the way and blocking out background noise lol. I swear it's not just silence!

Hey hey, sunneydaze drop me a line if you want some help with getting Audacity doing what you want it to do. Another more full featured multitracking program is Reaper. www.reaper.fm

Hey, yeah the problem was fixed long ago, thanks. Just to clear the air, I wasn't bashing the developers or the software, I simply wanted to use the comical name to make a pun that sort of fit with what my problem was. I simply happen to have a sense of humour.
