Musician Forum - Band Discussion Board - BandMix

Hey everyone,

just signed up and thought this would be a good place to start for what I'm looking for. Though my profile explains everything that I am looking for, it's rather difficult due to where I live.

Lethbridge does have quite a few bands and I have met and hung out with most of them but Metal seems to be a genre that is condemed by this town for local artists, though I have met 3 or 4 of them during Battle of The Bands at Blarney Stone a few months back. But it seems as though the only way to put my talents to good use is to start a band with close friends but since my perfered genre can be so complex, not many are willing to be dedicated enough to learn it.

Well there's my rant for the day, so I'm just going to end a note and put a couple of open ears out there: if you or anyone you know that lives close to here is looking for a metal vocalist, give me a shout.

There are 2-3 bands in my town (Ingersoll, Ontario) that play metal.
For me (perhaps because I am a girl), it definitely is not an easy task to find people to just jam out some tunes with.

I know I don't have enough experience to play in the established bands, but even just looking for people to learn with, can be a huge downer.

It seems like (in smaller towns), if you didn't already have bandmates by the time you finished highschool, it is very difficult to find people willing to try playing with someone new.

I have even come to the point where I don't even look for METAL musicians anymore. I am completely willing to try out anything as long as it keeps me playing.
