I know where it is and I wish I wasn't here...too damned cold! Can't help you with your search for Christian musicians, but I play a decent rhythm guitar (some lead)...blues mostly.

Maybe the bass player wasn't playing the bass line that was on the Cocaine recording. Does that make it wrong? That original bass-line is BORING. I've played the song many times and will NEVER play the same as the record. In my opinion I play the Cocaine bassline MUCH BETTER than the record and MORE INTERESTING than the record. That doesn't make it WRONG. Later...

I NEVER EVER EVER play the bass like the original recording. For me that's as bad as playing a lead note for note. won't do it. Nope nope nope. I make a song my own if I possibly can. It gives the band it's own unique sound.

Well...I think I do on "Stickshifts & Safety Belts," now that I think about it, because it's simple, & I have to sing it while I play, so I NEED it to be simple.

Heck, I often don't play the same song the same way twice, & I STILL don't think it's wrong. I go with my mood at the time, & that gives any song a variety that I & my bandmates usually like. It depends on the type of song, I suppose, but there is a whole wide world of notes & styles out there & I won't copy anyone else's as a rule.
