Hello all,

We are a three-piece band (12 Str.guitar/bass/drums) that plays mostly original ‘jangly, pop-tinged rock’. Although two of us share the singing duties, we are looking for a third vocalist (lead and/or backup) who sings well and plays an instrument. We are not particularly picky about the instrument: guitar, keys, percussion and anything else you think fits, and even better if you're a multi-instrumentalist as we could be as well. You should bring good, pitch-correct singing so we can get some three-part harmonies going.

Our musical inspiration begins with mid-period Beatles (Rubber Soul/Revolver albums) and stretches up to the present day, through Byrds, Big Star, Badfinger, The Raspberries, Cheap Trick, R.E.M., Grapes of Wrath, Redd Kross, Jayhawks, Teenage Fanclub, Sloan, early Radiohead, The Dawes, etc. Although we play mostly original material, we play some covers that may, or may not, be loyalty to the original recorded version.

Some things you will want to consider:

--we are in our mid-forties and are family guys with careers; so we’re not looking to be mega rock stars and take over the world at this point, though some notoriety for us is obviously welcomed!

--we live in the west GTA and jam at the Rehearsal Factory in Mississauga on Wednesdays (weekly 8-10pm)

--we are low-drama and easy-going but dedicated to our music

-- songwriting in the same vein we are mining is an asset but not a requirement. With that said, you should be committed to going in the same direction musically with covers and originals

--we are seasoned, experienced musicians who pick things up quickly and come prepared each week

--we have about 1.5 hours of material and we are looking to play the occasional gig

--you should have your own decent-sounding gear

We are hoping you can bring something to the table that adds to our sound as well as to the fun we have each week.

Thanks very much for your consideration. Listen to our stuff and see what you think you can bring to the band. Find our music at https://soundcloud.com/thetripnorth

Keep up the commitment.

Given the opportunity to play on my side of Lake Ontario, I'd love to come hear you play.
I know a few bars in the area who are looking for performing artists.
