The biggest obstacles facing independant musicians?

Being an independant musician or artist is a lot of work! from booking, touring, writing , recording, fan exposure... it can be a little overwhelming! especially when you do all that work, get the gig, and get paid... Wha!? $35.00 and a beer? hardly enough to live off. This is just one of many hardships the indie act will face.

In your experience, what do you think are the 3 hardest parts about getting your project exposed and getting regular paying gigs?
